What if Toy Story...

…was made into an official TV series?

Think about it! Remember the Buzz Lightyear TV series and the direct-to-dvd release of the movie that came before it? So i was just wondering if Pixar would’ve done the same for Toy Story, except for the movie part but just about a 70-something-episode series that would air on One Saturday Morning/ABC Kids… Great, wouldn’t it?

The time between Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3… it’s been a good 10 years and I figured a good TV series would show the adventures of what went on all that time.

Just a thought!

Oh god I wish!

But I came to the conclusion that it won’t happen and if it does… won’t be now. :frowning:

If they ever did make a tv series I won’t mind as long as it’s good and doesn’t suck.

A TV series could’ve been pretty cool, though my only worry is the relatively confined environment that it would’ve been set in. One of the good things about Buzz Lightyear of Star Command is that it was set in an almost limitless place- space. They had so many different planets and that sort of thing that almost no two episodes were the same scene-wise. With a Toy Story TV series, obviously a lot of it would be set in Andy’s room and even if they did have adventures outside of Andy’s room, it might still be a bit confined. It depends on how creative they would’ve been with it.

It still would be cool, though. I’m not sure if it’s actually going to feasibly happen, but it’s nice to dream.

You cant think of it in terms of “its just one room”. you gotta put yourself in the toys tiny shoes. That room is like the size of a mini mall to these toys. axpand to the whole house and you got yourself a whole world to play in really. and if needed they could always go to other places toys could brought.

You make a really good point LizardGirl but then again so does Kyle…

Buzz Lightyear was an okay TV series, better than the movie… I would’ve loved a TOY STORY series!

Maybe when TS3 comes on DVD they could have a 3 disc thing.
Disc 1:Full Movie
Disc 2:Behind The Scenes
Disc 3:Movie to promote the show.

That is very true Kyle, though if the whole of Toy Story was set in Andy’s room I’d get very bored. But a sort of ten minute clip series type thing with each of the characters getting up to something would’ve been very cool.

I had never thought about it. It would be a cool way to ‘fill-in’ the time gap between TS2 and TS3. Although I’d certainly want it to be done right, if you get my meaning. Saturday morning kiddie cartoons arent always known for high quality.
