I know we’ve had a few discussions about this on the site before, but I just wanted to see in an overall consensus which PIXAR films you think would be awesome in a digitally remastered IMAX 3D experience. Or on a 3D television.
For me, it would have to be Finding Nemo (with A Bug’s Life in a close second). I mean the underwater scenes were absolutely breathtaking on a 2D screen and I whole heartedly believe that 3D would enhance the depth and feel of the water, as well as the glistening light refraction.
Note: The reason I didn’t include Up or either of the Toy Story films was because they were all previously released in 3D (with the first two TS as rereleases). And Toy Story 3 is already slated for a 3D tv.
Not when it’s handled by PIXAR. I personally thought the remastered version of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 Double Feature were amazing, and the scenes in Up particularly Paradise Falls and Cumulonimbus Scene really benefitted with that extra dimension.
Yes it will cost more, but I think it’s worth it for PIXAR.
I think Finding Nemo should be rereleased. Not only would the underwater scenes be beautiful, but because it is the second highest grossing pixar film and one of the most well liked, it would make a ton of money and I personally would like to see it again.
I voted for Finding Nemo, but now that I think about it I would rather have A Bug’s Life. It has more nostalgia for me, while still having some scenes that would look great in 3D. It also would be nice to see the film get some more recognition.
I’ve already given my opinions on 3D so I’m not gonna repeat them all right now. But I cant say I need to see any of them in 3D. I’m still quite content with the 2D. Would they look cool? Yes. But they look cool to me now just as they are. I guess its because I feel I dont need the 3D.
