I was too young for Toy Story and Toy Story 3 is the only Pixar I’ve seen more than once in theaters. The latter is also first Pixar movie I have seen on the German opening day.

Hi Everyone. My name is Shane. I saw this discusion forum on Pixar films you saw in the theater. I thought I would share mine.

I saw Toy Story when I was 6 years old,one time with my dad and sisters, and the other time with some family friends.Loved it both times, and I still love it to this day.

I saw The Incredibles when I was fifteen with my stepdad. I was awestruck by it,and to this day,it is a Pixar film I revisit regularly.

Saw Wall-E with my mom and stepfather. We all really enjoyed it. It is among my favorite Pixar films, and I’m glad I shared the experience with them.

Finally,I saw Toy Story 3 in June this year and loved it. I saw it with my sister,brother-in-law,and my two nieces. That was so much fun. TS3 is my favorite Pixar film;it was everything I was hoping for and more.

I love Pixar films. Can’t wait for Cars 2. More Mater!

Hey Shane! Welcome to the forums. You’ll love it here

I didn’t get to see a lot of the first Pixar movies in theaters. Toy Story came out a month after I was born, so I was a little too young for the theaters. My mom was in charge of what we saw, but forever more now I’m seeing Pixar films on opening day

Opening Nights for the win Evangeline! It’s a goal of mine to see every Pixar movie in theaters from now on, especially trying to see it on opening night!

I saw Toy Story, A Bug’s life, Toy Story 2, Monster’s Inc, Finding Nemo and Wall-E. The rest I saw on DVD.

Thanks for letting me feel welcome,Evangeline. Very kind of you.

According to my folks, I saw Toy Story in cinema, but seeing as I was only 2 or 3 at the time, I cannot remember. I don’t think we had the video either, and I only saw it again later in my childhood.

As for A Bug’s Life, it was my favourite film at the time. My mum took me and my sister, who is 2 years younger than me, to the cinema to see it when I was 5, and I remember being poorly sick a couple of weeks later and I had to be off school (and I must have only just started school because I never went into reception class) so mum took me to the cinema to see it again. I remember lying on her lap not very well, and being at the back directly in front of the stairs and watching the whole movie lopsided. It’s one of those weird childhood flashbacks that I’ll probably never forget.
We got in on VHS and I near enough wore that down. I had a toy Dot and Dim aswell. Eventually I grew out of ABL, until I saw it again on the Disney Channel last year.

I most certainly had Toy Story 2 on VHS, although I don’t think I saw it in the cinema. I really enjoyed it though, and I used to watch it with my friend Alana, who loved her Disney movies aswell, and we used to act out the scenes with our toys because she had a massive bedroom with a lot of toys . She also had the Barbies in the film, which I thought was very cool. Like our ABL VHS though, we grew out of it, and ended up leaving them when we moved when I was 10.

Monsters, Inc. is a childhood classic in our household, and, if I can remember correctly, it was the first movie we got on DVD. We still have it, although I’m thinking of getting the Bluray copy when I get paid  . We saw it in the cinema, and I remember being a bit silly and my sister and I messing around. However, once the film started we were engrossed. In my McDonalds Happy Meal I had a Mr Waternoose, and Sarah got Boo, so of course I was a little bit jealous! It’s her favourite film now (she was 6, I was 8 when it was released), and we still laugh at the jokes. My sister is actually a saxophonist aswell, and she has all the sheets for MI and is trying to convince her school jazz ensemble to do it for summer concert (I’ve heard that they’re trying to get the sheets for UP aswell, and they’ve already done TS2-her school band is awesome :sunglasses: )

Finding Nemo is another film we saw in the cinema, and at the time it was HUGE! Everybody liked Finding Nemo. I was 9, nearly 10, when it was released, so still in Primary School and not very long before my folks broke up, so it is a bit of a mark on my upbringing. We never got it on DVD or video though-wasn’t as hyped as Pixars previous films, and by this time, I think mum thought we were growing out of animations.

We saw The Incredibles in the cinema with our stepdad, and I had just started High School so I must have been 11. Don’t really remember liking it so much, but it was a really nice treat, and obviously the more I watched it, the more I liked it, and this year I managed to convince dad to see it. I remember it being on BBCOne whilst we were on holiday in summer last year, and I tried to decide whether to watch it or go out on the beach, so I did both.

Our stepdad got me and my sister a copy of Cars. Wasn’t too fussed, didn’t go to the cinema coz I was 13 and angsty and too cool for cartoons (we’re all losers at that age). It’s still my least favourite of Pixar films, but we kept the copy (it was a pirate one :frowning: ) and I still watched it on BBCOne at christmas like a dork.

Mum rented Ratatouille for us to watch on a Saturday night (Hate The X Factor, folks hate Casualty, Dr Who was only 2 months a year, and Merlin hadn’t started yet so we generally didn’t bother with TV) and I did enjoy it (must have been year 10, so 14), although I do remember feeling very tired and unwell so it probably tampered with the viewing experience. Unfortunatly perhaps this is the reason I’ve never really been able to get into it as a film, and I want to love it and I quite often get the urge to watch it again, I’m just worried I won’t be able to.

My step-sister bought Wall-E for Saturday night viewing a year or so later (another film I stupidly didn’t see in the cinema, despite my friends insistance that it was amazing) and I LOVED it! I don’t think I need to say anymore!

I didn’t see Up until last year when it was on the Disney Channel, and although I wasn’t so keen the first time when I saw it with Sarah, it was when I watched it again with mum when something clicked and I became somewhat obsessed with Pixar.

Because I hadn’t seen a Pixar film since TI, I was first in line to see Toy Story 3. In fact, we saw it on holiday last year. It was a very warm evening and we all walked down to the cinema to see it and it was of course brilliant. When I got back to Nottingham, my friend who hadn’t seen it yet (and he must be amongst the only friend who hadn’t seen it yet) asked me to see it again with him, which I of course did. We got the DVD the day it was out .

All of Pixars films sum up one word: timeless.

Toy Story
A Bug’s Life
Toy Story 2
Finding Nemo
The Incredibles
Ratatouille
Up
Toy Story 2

I regret not seeing Wall-E in a theater to this day

Toy Story: I was 1 when this movie was released lol. I saw it for the first time on VHS when I was 5 or 6.
A Bug’s Life: I didn’t get to see this one until I was 10 or 11 and I got it for Christmas.
Toy Story 2: This was the first movie I saw in theaters that I have a very clear memory of. I saw Antz before but I don’t remember anything from it. I loved this movie and it was one of the first movies I asked for Christmas. (Sadly I’ve lost the tape)
Monsters INC: I saw this in theaters when I was 7. I told my expierence of the film in the other thread.
Finding Nemo: I had to wait until the cheap theater to see this one, which was annoying since I went on a field trip to the Aqarium and it was all anyone talked about the entire time.
The Incredibles: I know I saw this in theaters, I can’t remember exactly when however.
Cars: I didn’t see this move until Summer of 2009. I finally got down on it and rented it on DVD.
Ratatouille: I also rented this one as soon as it came out on DVD.
WALL-E: Saw this in theaters on opening week I believe, I almost cried. (Which is very embarrassing for a 14 year old teenage athlete)
Up: I saw this at the discount theater after sucessfully convicing my brothers to see it over Ice Age 3. (Best choice ever)
Toy Story 3: I didn’t see this until about three weeks ago at a movie night with several of my friends. I was supposed to see it with a friend on opening weekend but they decided to go off and vacation in a foreign country for a month.

I saw Bug’s Life but don’t remember it, my parents say they took me though.

What I do remember was seeing Toy Story 2 when I was 4, absolutely loved. I can vividly remember my reactions to certain scenes. When the plane flew over the toys at the end I got goosebumps, still do today, that one scene has so much nostalgia.

Saw Monsters Inc as well, don’t remember how I felt about it at the time, but I do remember not finding the outtakes as funny as in Toy Story 2.

I saw Nemo 3 times, it was my sister’s favorite movie, and I found it hilarious as well. I probably have seen this one more than any of the other pixar films.

I saw the Incredibles with a friend and thought it was okay. I was starting to grow out of animation, so I was never really that into it, but I did get the DVD.

Didn’t see another one until Wall-e. We went to see Madagascar 2, the tickets were sold out, and so we saw the much better Wall-e. I think this is what made me start to take animated movies seriously again, I didn’t consider myself much of a fan, but it set the stage.

Did not see Up in theaters. I absolutely hate myself for not seeing Up in theaters. It didn’t come to my attention that I needed to see this film until I started to get excited about TS3. I saw the Toy Story Double feature, and that is what made me want to see Up, and Up was the movie that really made me consider myself a pixar fan again.

I saw Toy Story 3 three times, the only other movie I saw in theaters three times was Nemo. I saw it at midnight the day it came out with my friends, and saw it twice more with family. It is my favorite movie ever.

Don’t know if I’ll be able to talk my friends into seeing Cars 2 with me, if not I may need to tag along with some younger cousins. I should definitely get to see Brave and Monsters 2 though.

All of them except Cars and Toy Story.

Well, at the cinema I saw Finding Nemo… and Toy Story 3… and that’s all  All the other films I watched on DVD.

I saw Toy Story 2, Ratatouille(for my birthday, which was the release date, June 29th  ), Up(for my birthday), Toy Story 3(for my birthday). Yes, only four. Pretty lousy for a mega Pixar fan.
high-five self in face

Well, I saw only two. And I watched the first and second Toy Stories for the first time only last year. Wow. That didn’t prevent me from loving the third one, though.

That’s cool. I’ve heard they weren’t very big in Russia, so that makes sense.
