You know, there’s really no reason why they would use any of those as toys (Ninja Turtles are so 90’s). Pixar’s not the type of people to throw in cameos of other pop culture icons for no reason.
I think LEGO toys would be a good idea. Transformers and Ninja Turtles aren’t as good because they have already been characterized with personalities and starred in numerous movies.
Well I’m a pretty hardcore TF fan, but for some reason I don’t want Transformers and Toy Story to mix. I wouldn’t mind if something said “Prime” in the background as a nod to Optimus, or something along those lines, but not the actual toys.
I could maybe see a Star Wars figure in the background…
If you think about it, lots have been introduced: Potato heads, army men, hot wheels, Barbie, that spin-wheel learning toy, Mr. Mike, etc. All based off exsisting stuff.
None of which had a tv show or movie though. They need to stick to classic or obscure toys, ones that have not been given a personality yet. ones that wouldnt feel like proctuct placement or part of a fad.
Well, since the setting of Toy Story 3 is in a daycare, I am heavily assuming that there will a lot of Playskool or Fisher Price Toys. I’ve already seen the Popcorn Cart in the trailer, but I bet toys like FP’s xylophone will be in 3. Maybe also Toddle Tots from Little Tikes, since they were in 1 & 2.
Exactly. That’s why it’d be wierd having someone like Optimus, who tears his enemies heads in half with his bare hooks (which is awesome), to be put in the Toy Story Universe. I wouldn’t mind things like knick knacks, rip sticks, zhu zhu pets or whatever (that might be funny), or things like that. I’d be mad if Megatron flew in though.
