What would you write about?

Is there a topic like this? I can’t remember. If there is, delete this immediately. Basically, both the professional and amateur writers on this forum will post what they would write about, or what they are writing about currently.

Example-This is the plot of my novel/short story/poem/etc. It is about a dog who loves a goldfish. Blah blah blabbity.

I’m not really much of a writer unless it’s schoolwork. But I always love those stories where the characters become friends, have their arguments, their triumphs, their romances, their defeats, etc. And at the end, they all come together for some final battle with an enemy that just screams, “Epic.” It’s very fun and addicting to get lost in a world like this. Like cocaine.

I’ve always thought of writing something like that. When parallel universes of all sorts band together to defeat a common enemy. The thing is, my idea is very predictable and resembles Kingdom Hearts or Sliders even. So I will ponder on it until I can get something fresh and interesting.

What are PP’s ideas?

I’m currently trying to write songs based on my feelings. They are easy and fun to write, so it’s quite enjoyable, unlike fan fictions which take a lot out of me. That’s why I haven’t been working on my TI 2 fan fic for a while, but who knows? Maybe I’ll work on it again in the future. Maybe. <_<"

I quite like the idea of being an author, even if the pay is terrible and it’s very difficult to get published. I wrote a short story about a middle-aged, fat, balding bloke who was leading a numbingly boring life but ended up in a very strange situation involving conspiracies and the sort, but it’s not particularly original. I think when it comes to writing, unless it really is your ‘thing’, there’s no point trying to force ideas or stories into your head. Well, that’s what I find, anyway. I haven’t thought of an idea strong enough to support a whole book so until then I’m not planning on doing anything more than writing short stories.

Sounds a little bit like Up!

I did have an idea for a short novella, I was working on it for my A-level extended project but they threw me off the course as it ‘wasn’t original enough.’ But enough of my griping.

My story was going to be set in an alternate post-WWII society, but one in which the war had been won by the axis. The majority of allied territories were divided up amongst the axis powers and Britain is the only allied country remaining independant, but it has withdrawn in upon itself for protection, it’s cliffs bristle with defences and emplacements and barrage balloons clog it’s skies.

As Britain stagnates there is a sense of uneasy peace in the rest of the world, Germany and Japan vie for territories and power, but they do so with diplomacy, not war, for now. Atrocities happen every day, the entire continent of North America has been wiped clean of life by a Japanese bio-weapon, the event which effectively ended the war.

My story itself follows the crew of a dirigible which serves in running cargo and passengers from place to place. I had the captain, Jonathan Friday, as one of the last Americans. His wife, Kumiko Mai, a Japanese citizen who serves as the voice of emotion to the crew. An engineer, Troy Roberts, an autistic savant with a mysterious past in a Japanese ‘research’ camp. The pilot, Dietrich Johansson, an Austrian who fought in the war and has seen such horrors that he is detached from everything. A surgeon, Dr. Elsa Schauer, a bitter and dispassionate German who served on the front line medical corps. A war orphan, Akiko Hotaru who performs a variety of small tasks on board the ship. The airship Shemhazai also picks up two passengers through the story, a Mr. Brown, an English gentleman of immpecable skill and Prof. Annabelle Copperstein a renowned, treasure-hunting, archeologist.

The story then continues as a mix of character study, pulp adventure and moral exploration. There is no primary antagonist, instead the focus is on the conflicts between the characters trapped together on a small airship for weeks at a time, with the story culminating at a shocking finale on the wasted soils of the dead continent of America.

As you can no doubt tell I only had some minor themes penned in and I hadn’t had the chance to do much research, but all the characters are penned out and a skeleton plot is there.

My apologies for both the wall of the text and my stories somewhat morbid themes.

I wanna write a fan fiction based on the movie 9.

Called:
The Life [spoil]And death[/spoil] Of 5

Talking about 5’s life, and 5’s [spoil]death[/spoil]

My goal is to become a professional screenwriter/story artist, but I don’t spend nearly enough time writing currently. I prefer not discuss things I am currently writing on the internet, simply for privacy reasons, but I will say I have 3 movie ideas floating in my head now, and one video game idea as well.

I can say I’m working on a movie adaptation of the Sonic the Hedgehog games, mainly based on the events of Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I also wrote a short film during school, that was about a guy who is supposed to meet a girl in a park. The guy’s plans go awry when a mime prevents him form doing so, as whatever the mime does, actually happens. We made the film, but it isn’t online, so I can show anyone.

I’m the same way as DocKenobi with sharing story plots online. I would only share if I felt someone wouldn’t blab it to the world, or post it if I knew there were no story stealers and such… but alas… :unamused:

I wish I were a better screenplay writer, because I have an incredible story that I have written and would love to see put into screenplay form. I’ve also written a 15-chapter novel (that still needs editing and finalization) that I am extremely proud of.

I’m also a fanfiction writer, but as of late I have been struggling with a horrible bout of writer’s block. :frowning:

If anyone really cares, you can write me a PM regarding my story ideas. But I always feel like people won’t like my stories or think they’re stupid…

little chef

Well, first off, I don’t worry about anyone stealing any of my work. No one has and with permission, I would allow them to post it elsewhere if they give me credit in the first place.

Occasionally, I had some story theives, but I dealt with them.

Stories I am writing right now: A Three-Part Incredibles Trilogy story.

Other ideas in the thick: A Romantic Love Triangle between Violet Parr and the two boys who she came to love: Tony Rydinger from the movie and Xander Carson from the Boom Comic story.

For anyone interested in the formating of screenplays (very important if you want to have one successfully sold!), see here: screenwriting.info/

It’s a good website I found. Of course, having software to format stuff for you is quite convenient, but you’d have to buy it, and it could be expensive, (I’m not actually sure how much it is).

I’ve found it is good practice reading and writing in that format. It is very different from the way you would write another type of story, as you’re writing very visually, and (usually) precisely in the moment.

I think, since about 13 years old. All i’ve really wanted to do is write comic books. That’s pretty much the only sort of career path that has interested me. Needless to say that i’ve had a bunch of ideas that i would like to do if ever i was lucky enough to get a gig with Marvel or DC. But there are still a bunch of original stories i’d like to do at the moment

Currently, i’m working on something called “Grim” which is about a Repo-man taking over the duties of the Grim reaper. I thought if anyone would be able to tackle the job of convincing humans that they have to die, it would be someone who had to take away people’s homes

I dunno, at the moment i’m still working on the basics, like the tone of the book etc, but i’m definitely excited whenever i start writing it. I’d like to think i can make something really worthwhile out of the idea.

I wouldn’t want to presume that anything i’ve come up with would be good enough or original enough to warrant it being stolen. But please don’t steal my idea!

Ther’es actually a program called Celtx that is a free screenplay formating softawre. It’s very easy to use. Just type it into Google and the site where you can dowload it from should pop up.

I’ve been coming up with stories and poems for as long as I can remember, I 'm serious! The stories I am writing to get published into real books someday are mostly based off of adventures my friends and I played out for fun a long time ago! Then I expand on my stories to add more depth later. I won’t tell reveal any of the plots online, but telling you that a lot of my stories come from the imagination of kids playing pretend should tell you enough. Wild fantasies rock!

I’ve been writing a Finding Nemo fan fiction. It’s not that original though, since I got the idea when I heard the comic book description. I won’t give any of my original ideas, not because I think people will steal them just because they’re kinda stupid  But I am writing a screenplay about two friends who find a mysterious passageway at Disneyland which happens to lead to the Worlds where the Disney movies take place, and where Walt would always visit. That’s all I got so far…

That’s an interesting idea, woody. I’ll admit, the diffrent Disney worlds does remind me of Kingdom Hearts, but I think the idea of delving into Walt Diesny, and how he came up with his ideas.

I’ve been writing comics (more like graphic novels, most are 150-200 pages) since I was about 5. Most of them are pretty much nonsense action/comedy/drama mostly because I wrote them as I went and have been canceled. I’ve been coming up with some stronger stories lately but I can’t quite get everything to click yet, and none of the ideas are complete.

I do have an idea which I’m thinking about though, and I’d either do it as a screenplay, graphic novel, or storyboard;

Basically, it’s about a kid who finds a futuristic wristwatch that lets him travel through time by setting the time and date on it. At first he improves the world by stopping and changing past events but his doings eventually become more and more greedier. At that point, he encounters another boy who demands to have the watch, and the kid gets into this whole intrigue about the watch spanning hundreds of years. I have the beginning and end in my head but I don’t have the middle down exactly yet. I have a few ideas, though.

Currently, I’m working on with a novel. The protagonist is two old man, with the same age, in different situation, end up meeting each other eventually+coincedentally.

[Hi, Bryko614! It’s been a while since i heard about you! I forgot to include your name in ‘PP Most Favorite User’, still you’re one of my favorite!]

Thanks, I found it, (I had no idea there was a free program like this). It seems to be easy to use, and have a lot on it. For those who don’t know the program, it has formating for screenplays, stage plays, A/V plays, audio plays, storyboards, comic books, and just plain text.

I was actually quite interested to see that this is actually software from Newfoundland, Canada. As a Canadian, I found that kind of cool.

Here’s the link for those who want it: celtx.com/

Glad you found it helpful , C-3P0. It is a very good program, especially considering it’s free.
