Leirin- Wow, that’s a really detailed piece of fan art you found there! I’m not really into the anime or manga style, but I really like it.
My youth group leader hinted that he’s looking into information on a mission trip to Haiti next year. And I’m defintely down for that! I’d like to help out with Earthquake reconstruction. I’ve done Hurricane reconstruction in New Orleans, and this summer I’m working in New York. It’s a dream of mind to do humanitarian work over seas, and while Haiti is very dangerous, I’d be very happy to sign up and help out there.

Well, once again, I’m sitting on a railroad track with this huge-butt locomotive of assignments hurtling towards me. I’m kinda wishing for this semester to end soon, but it will be bittersweet because this will be my last ever of my fifteen years of formal education. And then, it’s out into the big bad world, to face my fears and follow my dreams!
I see what Spirit means. For me, I’m not a fan of anime or manga style of art. Sure, there’s some that come across that impress me. And I’ve been exposed to a lot of that type of visual style, my friends are really into. But it’s kind of like asking someone why they like the color blue and dislike the color purple. You know what I mean? It just not to my tasting.

It’s okay if you dislike that kind of visual, it’s understandable. Although I’d like to clarify that not all Japanese animation is the same style. Y’know, kinda like how American animation shares a lot of similar traits, but our entire country’s animation cannot be generalized into one style.
I know, right? I love the arrangement of the characters. Feels really grand. The site is pixiv.net , although I am unsure how someone who doesn’t speak Japanese can browse it. If you’re curious, this is the Pixar tag.

I’m aware of that! As I said in my previous post, there are some examples of anime and manga that I’m impressed with. And I also mentioned that I have been exposed to it. My group of friends in high school were very much into Japan and its cartoon styles. But overall it’s not my cup of tea.
Right now I’m reading archived threads, compiling a list of Pixar Planet Award winners that I promised I’d post to the Pixar Planet History thread.
EJE and Spirit: Perfectly understandable. I was just kidding… some people like red, some people like blue. We all have our tastes.

I personally love anime. Or at least, Ghibli films. I resent things like Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z, though. I dislike “monster fight card” shows. But I really love the usually known Anime style. Personally. I just…like it.
