Hi, everyone.
I know I’ve been away from here for quite some time now, but I wanted to come back in today cause of the whole thing going on with SOPA and PIPA (which I found out about yesterday) and I noticed that it was being discussed here. I also noticed Megaupload being pulled off the internet, so right now I’ve just been feeling very nervous and upset about all of this. Nervous about how this sort of thing would affect the internet or how it would affect our lives. I’ve also been feeling angry about it too cause of feeling like it’s been threatening to throw me off of what I’m used to and what’s always been normal for me to do on the internet, and that it might take away the freedom and privileges that I’ve felt I had. I just feel like I need to be talking to someone about this whole thing, and I guess I’m wanting to come here to do it because I know that I’ve had trusted friends here who understand.
All I can say is I would want nothing more than to see SOPA and PIPA stopped for good.

I find the shutdown of Megaupload devastating not so much because I really use the site often, but moreso because of the sheer amount of internet content that’s been deleted all at once. What’s especially unfair about the whole thing is how Megaupload isn’t even strictly for the uploading of copyrighted content. There was plenty of original material made for download there.

Does it seem like you have to put in 200% effort to even be on the same level as other people on stuff, like socializing while it seems others can do it with ease? This is how I feel and have felt for a while, and it is very frustrating. It’s starting to reach a breaking point. I’ve had enough of being the guy people only talk to because they have to. I’ve made an effort to improve this and have done so successfully, but unfortunately I revert back after a while. I just don’t know what to do about this anymore.
Megaupload was my favorite hosting site.
It’s shut down has affected me a lot.
