What's on your mind? (Status Updates)

Had a busy day.

Work in an hour.

Even though many have said 2011 was not a great year for film—which has probably been said annually except for a few years with multiple masterpieces—I’ve come to the conclusion that 2011 has personally been one of THE best years for enjoyable films. Not in animation, but live-action. Looking at my current top 10, I wouldn’t really call the films close to flawless except for Poetry (so far!), perhaps even The Artist (if one will appreciate its occasional overdramatic nature, which I think is intended and therefore appropriate). But I thoroughly enjoyed those films! There are many more to see, too. I’m excited. Getting my Netflix queue prepared with 2011 movies now.

Also, the fact that the director of Hoop Dreams, one of my favorite documentaries, directed The Interrupters makes me want to watch it even more. Plus, both are set in my hometown.

I can’t even contain myself at the moment… Andrew Stanton has been doing question and answer sessions on Twitter, answering fan’s questions and such… and he actually replied to one of my tweets!! :‘DDD To say that I was excited was a horrible understatement!!! Ahhhh I’ve had a couple Pixarians reply to me before, but to have one of my favorite Pixar directors answer my question was… wow. Unbelievable. :’)

When are you going to have your next live stream?

I am going to watch American Idol.

I’m about half way through reading Showcase Presents Superman Vol 1.

I am going to play Buzz in a few hours.

That’s awesome you made a connection with Andrew Stanton! What did you ask him?

I watched the bonus features of The Umbilical Brothers: Don’t Explain.

About to watch this week’s Clone Wars. More Cad Bane!

Wathced The Breakfest Club.

Kenzie: I asked him, “Which robotic character from WALL-E has your favorite set of sounds?” And he replied with “E-V. She’s wicked purty.” Not to mention, in the very same night, I got to talk to AND was followed by Brenda Chapman, the creator and former director of Brave! :'D

Teo: I’m not sure! I do them kind of sporadically, but I should probably try to plan them on a regular basis so maybe more people will come. I’ll be sure to post something for you guys the next time I livestream, so you can come watch!

That’s awesome!

And also I’ll come to your next Live Stream most likely.

I don’t have a Twitter, but talking with people like them would be my only motivator to open one.

Spirit: I didn’t really see the point of Twitter at first either, but now it’s my favorite social networking site… especially with the presence of Pixarians! So far I’ve talked to or have gotten replies from Brenda Chapman, Austin Madison (he actually drew over some of my art to give me pointers one time! :‘D), Catherine Hicks, and now Andrew Stanton! One of my biggest goals is to talk to Brad Bird, since he’s my most favorite director. It’s so strange to think that just a few years ago, the idea of talking to people like this was so far and out of reach… but now with sites like Twitter, it feels like they’re so close and the ability to talk directly to them is right there! Amazing. :’)

I don’t have many friends on Twitter and so I never got into it, even though many people I admire are members.

I counted up how many movies I’ve watched this month from Netflix’s instant and mail services. The results were about 8 for each, so I’m essentially only paying a buck per movie, which is pretty good in my book, although I could probably watch even more online (~15 last month—yikes!). I was also wondering how many new movies I see each month and each year. Probably around 15-20 this month. Man, there are a lot of movies out there in the world. I guess that’s one appealing aspect of cinema: there’s always stuff to explore.

Watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I just woke up and it is 9:40. Going to do something.

Feeling a little hungry.

I don’t care for Twitter either. I don’t have one. Anyone remember Myspace?
