I read a couple issues of Web Of Spider-Man today.
Thank you! ![]()
I was going to bake some cookies but it’s a bit too late now
I might bake some tomorrow though ![]()
Watching Malcolm in the Middle for the first time in years, after I finally conquered my fear of the monster in the opening credits.
It’s been starting to rain a little more here after the whole summer drought.
I got a big project done. I have just two more things to do tomorrow.
I’ve had a really good week
The weather has been good, I’ve been getting things done, and I’ve been talking to some of my old friends (who I hadn’t spoken to in almost a year)
So much happier now ![]()
I’ve just broken a saucer. Judging from amount of dishes I’ve broken in my life, I should be the happiest person in the world already. Hey, happiness, where are you? ![]()
Well, like some of the others have said, lately I feel a bit sad about this site. ![]()
I still love posting here—I still love the community—and of course, I still love Pixar and animation discussion—but we’re missing that tightness we had when I was a newer member, that true feeling of community when we were all actively on here discussing things, and not just Pixar, but a whole bunch of topics!
I’m not blaming anyone of course. With school starting again, and me trying to get my life and priorities in order, I certainly haven’t been the best poster. But there’s an element missing here, that exciting feeling of logging onto PP after school wondering what everyone’s up to…
I will continue posting here always, but there’s a reason I’ve been inactive lately, and it’s because I feel a little distant from these boards.
I don’t want to feel that way, I just miss a lot of people that were formerly active members! I haven’t talked to some of them in the longest time and I miss them being a part of my life. ![]()
In the coming weeks, I will do my best to start up lots of discussion where/when I feel is necessary, but I’m wondering what more we can do for the site now other than stand by it. I’m sorry for the long, ranty post! It’s just something that’s been on my mind for a while now and I needed to let it out…
Leirin: I know what you mean. That element of community has been missing from here; I’ve noticed it especially in the fandom section. ![]()
I do believe we can do more for this site. Probably we could look at old threads we haven’t bothered to post in for the longest time (I’ve actually done that quite a bit), and discover older fanfictions we’ve never read or forgotten about since they’re completed or a new chapter never came, and to read what is completed of those stories. ![]()
Also, we could start borrowing each other graphics again. =D There’s so many graphics in the fandom section, and a lot of good ones too that have probably never been touched by our members. There’s quite a bit of stuff we can do to make this site more alive again; we just need to push ourselves to do so.
And…this is a bit off topic, but I like your signature. Very well done!
We were watching A Man Escaped or: The Wind Bloweth Where It Listeth
I’ve been sick the past few days with some weird type of cold. I’m feeling a lot better now so I’ll be around here more. ![]()
JSWeC: Those are good ideas!
I’ll try and do what I can. There’s a lot that could be done, actually. Also thank you!
Grace: Yay, I’m glad you’re feeling better! I always get them at this time of year. ![]()
We went to watch The Dark Knight Rises again and in the meantime we watched Finding Nemo 3D, which was already released here, but we were very disappointed because they didn’t show the attached short film.
I re-watched The Hunger Games last night.
Watching Men in Black 3
I was reading parts 4 and 5 of Kraven’s Last Hunt.
Watching Electra Glide in Blue.
I don’t think there’s any bringing this site back to where it was. Anyone who try’s is just wasting their time. The site’s prime years was in 09/10, the same time the TS3 hyped started. TS3 was the only reason I found this site, And I’m sure it’s the reason for some of you guys too. Once the movie came out on DVD, the hyped ended and the site started to go with it. All of us can’t be here forever, we will all have to leave at one point. I don’t think the members who left like Evilgenius are coming back. PP had it’s peak and now it’s over. I don’t think the site will die but it won’t return to it’s glory. And with the critical claim Pixar has been getting, I woulden’t expect a lot of people to come. Just be happy it’s still here.
Watching Days of Heaven.
I don’t think there’s any point in being so pessimistic about it.
This site WAS still pretty big before the TS3 buzz kicked in in late '09/early '10 and I think it’s moreso a case of a lot of members getting older and moving on than it is Pixar not being as popular or successful. Waves always get brought in when a new Pixar movie is out. I think TS3 helped because it was bringing the new in with the old.
I just think a lot of us have been so busy it’s hard to have the same amount of time for Pixar as we used to, and if one member drops out someone else (or a few else) might because they miss talking with them.
Anyway, I’ll try not to talk about this much more in this thread since it’s vaguely OT.
