What's your age and gender?

I’m 21 and I’m female. :stuck_out_tongue:

Though it’s actually not surprising to me that there’s a lot of teens/young adults here on this forum. I think generally most forums on the internet are like that.

Yeah, I’m with you there thedriveintheatre- I thought Phileas was much older too! Just goes to show that, as hydrogen_helium said, you don’t have to be over eighteen to be mature and responsible.

I’m an almost 17 year old male. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m 18 and male. :stuck_out_tongue:

I must be one of these older people who appears to be younger, mainly because of my lack of fluency in English. You must think I’m a very dumb person when you see one of my writing mistakes.

By the way, Danachii, finally I find someone who’s also 21!

I’m 13 and male :sunglasses: :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m 14 year old girl

I am a 17 year-old female. But most of you probably already knew that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Though, I have had a couple of people call me a guy, and it was really awkward. I mean, my username should kind of shout ‘female!’, but not everyone catches on, I guess. xDD;;

I’ll be turning 18 in… counts days 13 days! I’m still having a hard time believing that I’ll be a freakin’ adult, and these are my last few days of being a ‘kid’. I’ll always be a kid at heart, but turning 18 means I’m that much closer to becoming my own individual, living my own life out in the world without the comfort of home and having my needs met by my parents. :frowning: It’s… a slightly sad birthday, I guess, but at the same time very exciting.

I agree… a lot of our younger members are very mature, and that’s what I love about these boards. Of course, you’ll always have your few young teens (and sometimes, unfortunately, adults ) who don’t always show proper forum etiquette, but overall, we’ve got an awesome lot of members. Another one of the reasons why I absolutely adore this community. <3

Wow… congratulations! I can’t imagine what it’s like for you right now! :unamused:

Thanks, Snipe! It’s a bit surreal, but I’m usually only affected by the birthday a few days after it goes by. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s that I’ve been slightly conditioned not to get super hyped about my birthdays, cuz since I turned 14 we’ve never really had the finances to make them super memorable. What would make my 18th special is if I could get a car, and an iMac. <3 Best birthday evar.

But I’m pretty sure it won’t happen. I don’t get my hopes up anymore. :stuck_out_tongue:

Early Happy Birthday! I remember when I was about to turn 18, I had the same feelings! But now that I am 18, the only difference is that I am a registered voter.

Spirit, I can honestly say, your spelling, grammar, and sentence structure are better than about 95% of the people on the internet today, and I’m referring to people whose first language is English :unamused: I didn’t even know English wasn’t your first language until you mentioned it on another board! You have some spelling and grammar mistakes here and there, but they are few and far between.

little_chef, I know how you feel. Well, I dont know exactly how you feel, my 18th birthday isn’t until next March; but I get a similar feeling every year approaching my birthday. I always think “Wow, 14 is totally cool! I can’t wait to be 14! It’ll be so awesome!” And then after a week of being 14, 15 is the coolest age. I am excited to officially be an adult though. If I go missing, on the news they’ll say “Woman, 18, missing” instead of “Girl, 17, missing” Hmm, that came off a bit more macabre than I meant it to…you know what I mean.

Well, thanks, Evil_Genius_27, I do what I can.

And don’t worry, being 18 isn’t any different than being any other age. It just depends in how seriously you take the change.

Yeah, Spirit of Adventure is right. Being eighteen isn’t a massive deal unless you want it to be. Of course there are some upsides (alcohol! Haha) but on a daily basis life doesn’t change that much. I admit I’m a little weired out by the idea that after my next birthday, I won’t be a teenager anymore, but it doesn’t change who you are.

Aww, thanks for all the early birthday wishes, guys. They make me feel happy and special already. <3 Yeah, I guess I’m just a very sentimental person, and it’s just the idea that I’m coming to the almost official end of my childhood that really makes me sort of sad. I know I won’t be a ‘legal adult’ (that is, old enough to drink and such) until I’m 21, but 18 is still considered adulthood.

I’m sure that I’ll definitely be enjoying it to the best of my ability - I always look forward to what my next year on earth has in store for me.

Well, as I think alcohol is the worst thing that has happened to humanity, that’s actually a downside for me.

Enjoy this day as much as the one you’l be turning 18. And enjoy it in the same way that you’ll enjoy your 80th. birthday. Every age is the same if you want it to be. Just add some wisdom  (and that doesn’t come from years, but from the mileage 8D).

Ha, that’s never stopped me or anyone else in my age group before! 18 isn’t much different. But it an awesome feeling that I’m allowed to buy cigarettes and lottery tickets. I don’t buy either ever, but it’s cool that I could if I wanted to! I have power! Sort of.

I’m a guy. Age is classified. Older than 18.

I’m a 13 year old young lady. But seriously, I hate it when people call me a lady. I’m a girl, yes, but no one can make me a lady! (you win a virtual cookie if you get the reference I just made)

Would that be Lyra from The Golden Compass, rock-itpop?
