When Buzz First Arrives...

… And the toys all go up on the bed to greet him, how do they get up there?
Rex and Ham especially do not have arms that would allow them to climb the bed. We see Woody climb up and then there is a shot of Rex and Slinky (i think) peering over the edge of the bed, but how are they there, i can only assume they are standing on top of a pile of toys

I know the answer is probabaly ‘Its an animated film’ but i was just watching it and it was one thing that jumped out at me… What do you guys think?

They sort of all stand on top of each other and clamber up?

That’s a good question, St_Jons, though yes, I guess the most obvious answer is, “it’s just an animated film”, etc.

Huh. Good question.

My guess is they piled some blocks or linkin’ logs or something up and then all the toys without poseable thumbs or what have you probably climbed up that way. Course, if you sat there and thought about it, you could probably think of hundreds of possible ways to get up there. In the words of Captain Kirk, “There’s got to be another way!”

Well, if I was a moving, living toy myself, I’d have enough downtime to actually have the time to actually plan the navigation around the room.

Ha, I never thought about that till just now. If I had to guess either they somehow magically pulled it off or maybe they stood on top of each other and made their way up there.

If I was one of Andy’s toys I know that I would have my ways of getting up and about in the room. I would have it down to a science. :sunglasses:

maybe, well…in the toy story game 2, there was a pile of books, that you can climb to get on the bed

Maybe Slinky Dog sprung them up, ala Toy Story 2.
But how did HE get up there then?

Well when they hear sid, and they all climb on the desk to see out the window, you actually see Rex make a 3 foot leap onto the chair, so I geuss they have super natural abilities lol
