When will you see Toy Story 3?

My neighbourhood theatre actually waives the $1 fee for the glasses if you bring your used ones. The city cineplex doesn’t, but you get to keep the glasses as a souvenir. And yeah, the Darling Harbour IMAX takes your glasses back, like cinemas in Singapore, stingy people. :frowning:

I’m torn on whether I should see it again in IMAX. On the one hand, the opening and climax scenes truly deserve the IMAX treatment, but the rest of the movie (IMO), not really. I may just try out the one at Entertainment Quarter (the faux IMAX) just to see how big the screen really is in comparison to the bona-fide one at Darling Harbour (which I’ve watched TDK and HTTYD on, both experiences which I truly enjoyed).

Maybe try this thedriveintheatre

When I saw TS3 in 3D, I asked my bro, “What did you think of the 3D”
He said “Waste of money, rather see it in 2D”
If you have seen TS3 at IMAX 3D, try and see it at your closest theater in 2D and see the change, seeing a 3D film again is a bit boring for me, see how it was in 2D and think if it was worth it seeing it in 2D or 3D, But the Day &Night short In 3D was really cool I have to say!

gleefan1: I did see it in 2D on Cheap Tuesday the day before yesterday. It was an amazing experience, but I’m wondering what I ‘missed’ from the 3D version, which is why I’m debating whether to take the rewatch session to a conventional 3D theatre, or all the way to IMAX-level.

And I’m really MAD with Event Cinemas not screening the Night & Day short before the film! At least, for the session I attended. :imp:

What the???
Your theater is not showing Day & Night!!!
Golly thats a bit tight! I mean it’s one of the best Pixar shorts so far, I know a good idea, try and see if Event Cinemas has their own big screens of seeing films, does it matter if it’s in 3D or 2D TDIT?
You can compair IMAX’s screens to Events Big Screens, I’m trying to do that with V-Max screens.
Make sure you can yodel at the top of the seating areas!

gleefan1: I don’t know which part of Oz you’re from, but Sydney’s Event Cinemas have VMax as well. They’re showing TS3 exclusively in 3D on the VMax screens now, so if you want to watch in 2D like I did, you’ll have to settle for much smaller screens, although at a cheaper price. I’ve seen several movies in VMax, as well as Up in 3D last year, and it’s pretty satisfying- the seats are larger, and you get curved stadium-seating, so it’s all good.

But in comparison to the Darling Harbour IMAX theatre, that’s nothing! Touted as the “Biggest IMAX in the World”, it’s something like three-times the size of conventional screens and about five-storeys high floor-to-ceiling. The only barrier is the exorbitant ticket price, something like $28 for an adult and a $24-ish for students. :frowning:

Oh yeah, which cinema chain did you watch? Event? Hoyts? I want to know which one was yours so I can be more sure I’ll get to see D&N than my last outing.

I’m kinda in between, I have Hoyts, and I have Village Cinemas.
Then I have Regent, I have a wide range, it’s not bad I have to say, Hoyts has IMAX, so thats good.
But it’s nice about that.
