since we went pro on podOmatic, the download location map is an added bonus. But I don’t know how accurate it is…

It’s pretty accurate.

While it doesn’t give the exact location of the actual listener it does give the location of the server they downloaded it from which will in turn give the region. Thus depending how populated the area is it is accurate to anywhere from a couple of blocks to a couple hundred miles. But regardless of actual location it would be almost 100%accurate to politial boundries which are seldom crossed by servers.

Could be, although my IP address often traces - randomly and for no good reason - to Amsterdam! It depends on the sophistication of the tracking device they use whether it traces the entire route - but nevertheless it’s probably a pretty good measure.
