Who are currently your 3 personal favorite characters from Pixar’s 3 Toy Story films made so far and please separately say why, for each fave character named.
Once I see Toy Story 3 I will come back and make my list!
Check out my sig though… and my avatar.
Even though we haven’t seen much of him, Lotso is for sure one of my favorites. When I first saw him, I thought he was the cutest thing ever, and he’s for sure living up to all the hype. Can’t wait to see him in action!
Wheezy is another one of my favorites. I remember loving him as a kid, and forgetting how funny/cute he was till I rewatched TS2 last summer. His parts in the blooper reel for TS2 always have me dying.
And finally, Rex has emerged as a new favorite of mine. I only just realized how hilarious he is!
Favorite from Toy Story: Slinky and Woody
Favorite from Toy Story 2: Slinky, Woody, Mr. Potato Head
Favorite from Toy Story 3: Slinky, Woody, probably Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, the The Aliens, and Dolly
Woody- He’s always been my favorite character, right from the start.
Bullseye- I love his look and friendly dog-like behavior.
Rex- An insecure dinosaur voiced by Wallace Shawn. What’s not to love?
I remember on the Toy Story 2 DVD there was a feature called “Who’s The Coolest Toy?” and John Lasseter said something like “Choosing a favorite toy is like choosing a favorite son”. That’s kind of how I am too. There’s too many things to like about each of the main characters that it’s hard to decide.
Woody- of course, he’s Andy’s and my favorite.
Ken- I’m a HUGE 1:6 aficionado and Ken’s right up there on the top of my collection.
Bo Peep- come on, she’s voiced by Annie Potts and is Woody’s love interest. There isn’t a better female character in my book. -Omar
I think I’d have to choose Bullseye (because he’s just so darn adorable!) Woody (c’mon look at my username!) and probably Trixie (Because so far she looks hilarious.)
Toy Story: Woody and Buzz
Toy Story 2: Woody, Buzz, Jessie
I’ll add 3 after I see it.
Toy Story - Buzz, Rex, Sid
Toy Story 2 - Buzz, Rex, Bullseye
Toy Story 3 - Buzz, have to see the movie to see the next two.
I haven’t seen TS3 yet, so I might change my answer later.
But I like Jessie, Mr. Potato Head, and Emperor Zurg. Just because they’re awesome.
Every movie Woody has been my favorite.
He’s so smart and funny and is a very realistic character.
After that, Jessie’s probaly my second favorite, I love every thing about her.
Than Hamm, another character who cracks me up.
I like Buzz ok.
Throughout all the Toy Stories, Slinky has been a regular favorite. He’s adorable, his voice is so lovable, he’s always helpful and loyal. I’d love to have a dog like him!
For Toy Story 1, Rex and Hamn were so funny, one neurotic and the other sarcastic! Just way too funny.
For Toy Story 2, I liked the Prospector before he turned evil. He seemed very wise and compassionate, and a good leader and father figure.
Also, Buzz and his team of Rex, Potato Head, Hamn, and Slinky. They were the commandos, and nothing could stand in their way! Plus, it was just hilarious how oblivious they were to the damage they caused to the human town. They 've always hold a special place in my heart since seeing the five of them together!
I also love Bullseye - just an adorable yet intelligent horsey!
Toy Story - Woody, everything about him just sets up the perfect protagonist. He’s not perfect, but that just makes him more likeable. Though he can sometimes be a jerk, he has that uncanny ability to become a perfect leader and take charge of a situation wherever he is.
- Andy, he’s the kid in all of us. Everything about him you can relate to.
- Buzz, a cool toy, and an equally cool personality. While responsible for a lot of the humor, he’s also responsible for the most emotional parts when he realizes he’s not what he thinks he is.
Toy Story 2 - Zurg, his appearance was not neccesary to the plot, but everything about him was great; evil and sinister, but the humor in all of that is that he’s still a toy and never realizes it. Sets up some great scenes with Space Ranger Buzz as well.
- Jessie, a perfect female lead. Very emotional, but in the end, just a downright likeable character.
- Mr. Potato Head, well, he was in the first, but his mood has changed a lot here. He’s more of a hero now. Aside from that some of the part puns are just hilarious.
As others have said, I won’t be able to give you a definitive list until I’ve actually seen Toy Story 3. But so far I love Hamm and the Mutant Toys, and from what I’ve seen, Ken’s shaping up to be another new favourite of mine.
I’ve had a long-standing affection for Hamm since owning an action figure of him as a kid (plus he’s a pig, and pigs are awesome), and I really like the Mutant Toys’ character arc.
My favorites would be-
Mr Potato Head: If ever there was a film character like me, Mr P is him. I love his sarcastic wit and flippant attitude.
Rex: What’s not to love about a neurotic dinosaur
As for 3rd, I have a feeling Ken will slot right into that spot.
Toy Story is one of the few films where I can really say that there’s not a character I don’t like
I agree. I must admit, I’m a little indecisive about my faves, especially with all those new characters.
But if anyone, probably Peas in a Pod. They are adorable!:loves: I’m also looking forward to Ken, Lotso and Mr. Pricklepants
From Toy Story, my favorite character would probably be Slinky. I love his loyalty to Woody. And even after he’s streached out to far trying to help Woody at the end of the first movie, he still hangs on for as long as possible.
I think Bullseye is my favorite from Toy Story 2. He’s like a big puppy. Plus he was so adorable when he licked the cheese powder off of Al’s fingures.
I have several from Toy Story . Mr. Pricklepants - he’s a thespian hedgehog in lederhosen. How can you not like this guy? And Lotso sounds very interesting. I’m also looking forward to Big Baby and the Chatter Telephone.
You got that right. Already I’m thinking of dozens of other characters I could have included in my list, and feeling kind of bad about having to leave them out. Like the Aliens, for example. Or heck, Buzz and Woody. “Woody or Buzz?” is a poser that comes up quite a lot in Toy Story-related discussions, and I’ve honestly never been able to answer it. I think that both characters are equally great. And I’m eagerly awaiting meeting Lotso and Mr. Pricklepants, as well as good old Kenny boy.
I will admit that, when the original movie first came out, I didn’t care so much for Mr. Potato Head, because it seemed to me like he really had it in for Woody - he made cruel remarks about him on more than one occasion, and I thought he was a little quick to accuse Woody of deliberately conspiring to do away with Buzz, and to stir the other toys up against him. In Toy Story 2, he came off as a generally nicer character, the scenes with him and Mrs. Potato head (and the Aliens!) were great, and he really earned my respect with that neat little Oddjob trick of his. Now, whenever I watch the original film, I still see an obvious subtext of Mr. PH being pretty envious and resentful of Woody, but I can’t possibly bring myself to dislike the character. Every member of the Toy Story cast has their own unique little quirks and personality traits which contribute to the overall brilliance of the film, and PH’s surly, hotheaded demeanor is definitely his.
I love all the Toy Story characters, but these are the ones I get most excited about:
Toy Story-
Woody and Buzz: I put them together because I can never decide which is better. But I always thought Woody’s concern for Andy was really sweet, and Buzz is just Buzz. These guys crack me up even when they aren’t arguing!
Slinky Dog: I love his loyalty to Woody, and how much he wanted to believe he wasn’t guilty of killing Buzz. He’s also a very unique toy, and I went through quite a few Slinky dogs as a kid because of this character.
Rex: I identify with his awkwardness and naive personality, and I always thought it was funny that he’s a T-Rex, but is the biggest wimp in the group.
Toy Story 2-
Jessie: I always love the girl characters that are so full of energy, everyone thinks they must be insane, and Jessie enters that category as soon as she appears onscreen. Her emotional side also gets to me, and I still get teary eyed watching the “When She Loved Me” montage.
Bullseye: He’s a puppy-Horse. How can I not love him?
Toy Story 3 (so far)-
Ken: He’s hilarious. What more can I say?
Trixie: Another nervous dinosaur! And this one uses the internet!
Pricklepants: It’s a hedgehog with suspenders, and he seems to love theatre. If he quotes Shakespeare at all, I’ll like him even more!
Dolly: She has purple hair similar to the blue hair I sometimes have. And I like her simple design.
