Who else is tired of all the toy wrecking videos on YouTube?

That stuff literally makes me sick.

But yeah, it’s all about your intentions. If you’re an artist who thinks it’s cool enought to share with the world, I encourage it. I mean, look at wampar! But on the other hand, I’ve already stated my opinions on the people who are sick for attention.

Here’s my personal take on the whole “destroying toys” notion: First off, their not my toys to begin with and those people in the videos did spend their own money to buy them. People should have the liberty to do whatever they like with them, even if it means blowing them up for fun (something I admit to doing in the past as well). However, there are certain points where I draw the line such as this video: youtube.com/watch?v=boj7mw1jbWk , where all of those toys really could have made a child happy if they just donated them.

They’re just toys.

(And it’s fun to watch them go 'splodey).

You can call me a sentimental fool, but I hate destroying things in general. No, more I hate making fun of it. There are plenty of online shows out there like “Is it possible to microwave…” or “Will it blend?” Yeah, I’m angry and I can never understand that. I just try to avoid that crap. I remember, I saw a video from Will it blend series with 2 dancing princesses Barbies, Isla and Hadley. And felt really sorry for them.

I myself have never broken a single doll. I had sadistic games, too - like Inquisition - but it never came to real harm, like burning, cutting and simply breaking. I could just hang the victim by her hands and touch her with some stick pretending it was hot iron. That’s all.
They were always alive for me, they were my friends.

Of course, other people may do wahtever they like with their stuff, but not with their siblings’ toys (that is mean) and showing it off is just stupid.

A good point, observe:

Would you like >$100 or the joy blowing stuff up? I hope they liked, because, by looking at the comments, the viewers sure didn’t.
But that’s getting besides the point, this thread mainly pertains to Toy Story, and if you like blowing up Toy Story toys (except maybe Combat Carl), then I can honestly say you’re not a Toy Story fan. That makes about as much sense as a music enthusiast who destroys his own CDs.

I’m not tired of them because I don’t want them so they don’t bother me. However, I do think it’s incredibly lame how people do that in their spare time, and their idea of fun is posting it on youtube because it makes them look ‘cool’

That’s good point.

Sometimes I feel terribly sorry because they are such wonderful characters, so expressive and lively, so brave and outstanding… And in reality they are just another bunch of trash that gets burnt or blown up for fun. In the end, Lotso was right when he said [spoil]“We’re all just trash, we’ll be thrown away. That’s what being a toy is” Or like this.[/spoil]
Reality sucks…

And I just try to avoid that crap.

I still don’t like seeing people mutilate toys. It sickens me. D: For one, that WASN’T what the creators intended. The idea of someone deciding to blow up one of my creations is just too much…

There’s one more point I have for this topic. We were discussing this a lot on a doll collector forum, where I often hang around. Our discussion was called “Why children love torturing Barbie” - and why they like to show it off. For some people destroying their toys may be rite of passage. And showing it off is an important part: they just need to scream to the world out there “Hey you, I’m all grown up now, so I don’t care for such kind of stuff! (So I can blow up the toys that were dear to me in the past and feel nothing about it)”
I still don’t approve of it.

And, Omar, If all those videos disturb you - why do you watch them? They disturb me, but I never watch them. I’m kinda faint hearted and I know it. I’m so sentomental that the fact of their existense, of peolpe ding such stuss, can disturb me sometimes (when I’m already depressed)

I heard that too, but I’ve never met anyone where that was true.

Who wrecks their toys for fun? The last time I wrecked a toy was a Barney doll, as well as lost Barbies, Polly Pockets…you could just call me a Sid Jr. 8D

When a toy was to wreck to give away and I diden’t want it anymore , I would break it, and im not gonna lie, I had fun. Diden’t anyone ever strap a armyman to a firework before and watch it blow up? i remember I would melt them too. That’s what’s part of being a kid, is breaking your toys. somwtimes I find armymen are other tiny toys and wait to the 4th of July to use them.

Oh my god, I can’t stand those thing either
For the record, I never purposely broke my toys. They were like my little plastic friends. And upon typing that, I realized that’s… kinda creepy. 8D

they might hv seen sid as a role-model… or too into sid… i personally love sid as a character in toy story… his toys r cool, his teeth r cool, n his shirt is cool… but i treat my toys even better than andy, i put them on my custom-made pixar toy shelf, n sure dont burn my toys…

yea… its crazy to wreck toys up… if i have money… i’ll save them for buying toy story legos… since i hvnt made up the collection yet…

Sigh. What a waste of money for them. That’s not right. I personally don’t find those videos funny.

Gonna go off topic just a little to help out a fellow. Try and save your money on the Toy Story legos, good sir. They are really low quality. :frowning: Most of the figures lose their paint after a couple of days.

Back on track, I feel sorry for the people who wreck toys. Who do they think they’re impressing?

Nope

Who are you ? are you an Andy or are you a Sid?

Then everyone here is a Sid Phillips, and I HATE seeing things blow up. I almost don’t want to see Cars 2 because things are likely to blow up in there.

I would have to disagree. Of course I don’t play with mine as they sit on a shelf but they do get handled frequently. No paint or anything. They are the same quality as any othe lego and actually my utility belt buzz from TSC has more issues straght out of the box. (and I would still recommend picking one up)

I broke some (if not most) of my plastic friends, and most are hiding in the basement…-yawns- …but that doesn’t mean I hate my toys.
