Who has the best avatar?

IMO, it’s the best place on the internet to find avatars. However, I’m sad to say that the people there aren’t so friendly, and are much more picky with who they make friends with. Nothing like the awesome folk here on Pixar Planet.

Eh, that’s because, sadly, most DP fans are spoiled teenage brats. Or little kids, obviously. My sister is obsessed with them. I collect more stuff, though.

Anyway, I have a new one.

I love IV’s Esmeralda icon! Always makes me glad to see an ‘underdog’ movie get some love.

Thank you, Leirin!! I don’t see why people dislike HoND. I guess it’s because it’s less of a kid movie, and young adults just aren’t into animation. Makes me feel cruddy on the inside. :frowning:

I haven’t heard complaints about Hunchback of Notre Dame. On the contrary, I’ve read very good reviews.

Personally, I love the dark mood and visuals. One of my favorite Disney Renaissance films.

Well, a lot of animation fans like it, but most people I’ve met haven’t seen it, or hate it. And a lot of people on out Disney forum dislike it.

Ah, you mean… regular people. Casual viewers who don’t know anything abut cinema (excuse me the cruelty, but it’s simply true).

I was talking about wiser audiences 8D

Oh no, it’s not cruelty. Personally, I hate normal people. They’re so ignorant and annoying.

But yeah, intellegent people who expect more than explosions and cheesy songs tend to like it okay.

HBoND is basically amazing, even if it is a bastardization of Victor Hugo’s original novel. I think it’s my favorite of all of Alan Menken’s scores. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like it!

My group of friends in High School had a movie night once and we watched it, it was awesome.

Well, much like The Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, and every other unoriginal Disney movie, they couldn’t make a children’s film about it and kept it accurate. My dad hates Disney for making Tarzan, HoND, and Tarzan “bad”. But I like the Disney versions better, myself.

I agree with e-j-e in three aspects:

1- It’s amazing.

2- Yes, the Victor Hugo source is way darker and thematically more interesting. As it was a Disney film, they had to cut all that, but I cheer their bravery for keeping some controversial themes, mainly the critic of religious intolerance. And the depiction of Paris’ burning and Esmeralda’s execution is beautiful.

3- I also think it’s my favorite Menken Score. As the movie itself, it’s dark and haunting.

It’s in my top ten Disney movies, 7 or 8 of which are probably Renaissance films. I agree that it’s dark, and awesome, but I don’t have a favorite Alan Menken score. I like them all, personally.

EDIT: Although “Hellfire” is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard, and Froollo is my favorite Disney villain.

For reals Virginia? Frollo is my favorite too! (well, after Dr. Facilier of course!)

Yes, Frollo is one of the best Disney characters.

Especially, as I said, because they dared to show a side rarely presented in animation (and even live action): the dangers of a religious fanatical.

He’s a complex character who, honestly, thinks he’s doing the right thing. As the opening song says:

“Judge Claude Frollo longed to purge the world of vice and sin. And he saw corruption ev’rywhere except within”.

Personally, I found his fettish with Esmeralda very interesting. I love Phoebus with her, and I’m glad Frollo didn’t get what he wanted. I also <3 the Hellish way he perished. Hellfire always sends shivers up my spine. <3 Tony Jay= 100% pure, unconcentrated awesome.

His acting in that movie deeply chills me. There was no better match for Frollo’s character.

I can’t believe people don’t like HBoND! I love it personally, and it definately is one of the darker Disney films. Which is why I love it. Cause they dared to do something different, and hey, not everyone liked it, but I did. I loved it. And the Hellfire scene is terrifying. I have to watch that soon

And yet…another avatar change. sigh

I agree. And, being a Classical actor, definitely a wonderful singer.

Good one, JSWeC!!

Changed mine again… Donkey Kong Country Returns made me a DK-fangirl. And especially of Diddy, lol. He’s cool. I love the way he’s animated in Returns. I constantly try to capture his monkeyish jumpy movements in my drawings but as of now I’ve had little success. D’oh. D:
