^ It’s not necessarily Mexican, but it’s a little harsh.
Thanks, TDIT and JSWeC. ![]()
Thank you, ellie-jessie-eve and thedriveintheatre!
And yes - I think this movie deserves a lot more attention. ![]()
I like it! Any avatar combining Woody, Lasseter, and Rango is amazing. And I get the joke, half my town is Mexican, so I’ve picken up a few terms!
Are you referring to my sig or avatar, SoA? If it’s the sig, I’m aware it may be a little risque, so I purposely phrased it to be self-depreciative (“TDIT is Gringo”). It’s my usual tradition to change movie titles for my spoof videos that are a play on the original name, like ‘Quantum of Bolt’, ‘How to Drain Your Human’, ‘PAROD-E’, etc. I’ll change it if anyone takes offense or would like me to do so.
If you’re referring to my avatar, I don’t really think it’s insulting- it’s a play on the common patriotic chant ‘Viva Mexico, Cabrones!’ which means ‘Long live Mexico, my friends!’ I merely changed ‘Mexico’ to ‘Hawaiian Shirt’ and chucked Woody and Mr Lasseter next to Rango to show my appreciation for the Aloha shirt. <3
You’re Californian, right? I’m not sure which town you’re from, but I’m aware there’s a sizable Latino population in L.A. (The name Los Angeles alone is a giveaway of its Spanish influence).
I was referring to the avatar. The problem is that the word doesn’t really mean “my friends” ![]()
Yep, I am! Most of the Western and Southwestern part of the US has large latino populations, primarily Mexican. I live in Northern California, and my town has a large enough population where both Spanish and English are spoken. Signs, newspapers, and streets are written in both languages.
Egads, I saw the phrase in a comment for the Rango trailer and Googled it as a whole. It didn’t occur to me to check the meaning of ‘cabrone’ alone. ![]()
Actually, it depends on the context used. It can be anything from a term of endearment to describing a person in a foul mood. As well as the… uh… pretty rude meaning.

Again, if you’re offended, SoA, or anyone else for that matter, let me know. I’ll probably change my avatar every one-two weeks anyway.

Of course I’m not offended. It was just a mean for we all to learn something new ![]()
Haha, okay, that’s a relief! Thanks for letting me know, amigo. ![]()
This is my avatar. I created it in a freeware 3D computer graphics software called blender. Blender is about as good as the commercial ware autodesk Maya (which is a software dreamworks and maybe even pixar use for their movies). The character is a character I’ve been using in a short of mine entitled as S 330 (which is also the name of the robot AND my profile name on this forum).
Very nice, I like how you created it yourself!
Thanks!

Hey, thanks ![]()
Don’t be ashamed. It’s a good thing. ![]()
SOA’s signature would be more defined if he didn’t change it whenever he makes a new graphic!
I actually don’t change them whenever I do a graphic, but every 100 posts.
Oh my gravy, it’s Inception!!! I loves it!! <3
It’s perfect.
I love your avvie, SoA! So I take it you’re still in a dream? ![]()
