The part that’s in the sig is from the second verse:
O Kalakaua he inoa = Kalakaua is his name O Ka pua mae`ole i ka la = A flower that never fades in the sun

The other two lines are the first two lines in the song:
Mahalo nui ia Ke Alii wahine= Greatly admired is Her Majesty O Liliulani O ka Wo hi ku = The Chieftess of Hawai’i

Oh, and the song is called “He Mele No Lilo”
Which means “A Song for Lilo”

During my more idealistic days, I actually considered studying marine biology at University of Hawaii. I love that place, it’s been five years but I still remember Waikiki Beach, and the surf culture, and those nice little leis they give to visitors to welcome them!

Daughter of Eve is sporting one of the funniest sigs to come from little_chef! Kudos to your sis!

And JSWeC’s sig is a huge ‘What The Fudge’ moment. Is this a reference to your Team Go pic on dA? :wink:

Right now I really like ellie-jessie-eve’s Lilo and Stitch inspired sig.

Lilo and Stich is of my favorite Disney movies, so I clearly would like it :smiley:

The sig is mostly my current favorite because it quotes the opening song of the film “He Mele No Lilo,” which is such an awsome song. I truely love the language of Hawaiin. It is third on my lists of languages to learn. I love the cadance each word has. This song in particular is also meaningful to me personally. Once a few years ago as I was headed to go white water rafting, I listened to this song over and over again. I listened to each word carefully and attempted to mimic the beautiful pronounciation of each word. I had also printed out a copy of the lyrics to follow along with. By the end of that car ride, I had memorized the entire song. I still retain a large chunk of the song today.

Thanks love70ways! I’m glad there is someone else here as facinating with the Hawaiian language as I am! I just bought “He Mele No Lilo” and “Hawaiian roller Coaster Ride” off itunes, so it’s a matter of time before I know the song as much as you do!

If I do end up transfering to Hawai’i for college, I’m so going to take a class in Hawaiian.

I used PhotoShop for this one. I only got it recently, so I’m a beginner with this one. Previously I had to ask my brother for signatures.
