FoA: Haha, well, I dunno, are you, like 60 years old and don’t play videogames? Cos’ to my knowledge, there’s no age restriction on Bioshock Infinite (although I could be wrong, please correct me). Other than the violence, it looks to me like a game a teenager should be old enough to play.
But thanks for the compliment FoA, I pre-ordered the Premium Edition for PS3 and hope to pick it up on Thursday on my Good Friday leave. I haven’t played the first two games but I heard such rave reviews and I love the themes of identity and belonging, plus the idea of an ultra-nationalist faction of the United States floating in the clouds, with dissenters fighting against oppression and discrimination, with a reluctant hero tasked to rescue a girl imprisoned in a cage by a bird (when it’s usually the other way around) just really appealed to me.
K9Girl: No problemo, keep making those sigs and making us laugh. I like how direct and succint your taglines are.

Well, Bioshock Infinite is out TODAY! I’m super duper excited (if you couldn’t tell from my reply to FoA). A friend of mine on FB told me he was impressed by the first hour of gameplay alone and described the design and atmosphere as very Pixar-like (and this is from someone I assume is a non-fan, or at least, a casual admirer of the studio).
I just love the themes as I’ve described to FoA above, plus the fact that we might be getting a useful NPC for once! Well, at least, to my knowledge. Most NPCs I’ve played with in games are super annoying (like Princess Amidala and Jar Jar Binks in The Phantom Menace Videogame, goshdarnit ). But apparently the deuteragonist Elizabeth will say differnt things depending on your interactions and even toss you power-ups and health during battle, so it’ll be an interesting gameplay to experience. Plus, I read in reviews that the ending will stay with the player for days afterwards, so it’s gotta have a huge emotional payoff eventually!
My pre-order comes with a copy of Bioshock, and I just bought the 2nd for Xbox a few weeks ago (but haven’t found the time to sit down and properly play through it). I know how I’ll be spending my next month gaming-wise!
By the way, I played a few levels of Industrial Revolution (a pre-order game that earns you unlockables) and got bored, so I “cheated” and went to the Bioshock Wiki to get this Facebook banner which I’m now wearing as my sig. The “Vox Populi” are a Les Amis de l’ABC-like underground group who seek to overthrow the totalitarian and racist government called “The Founders” in Columbia, a city in the sky.
Vive la revolution!
