Who has the best Signature?

Thanks LQStudiesPixar! I’m glad you had as much fan as I did! You should check out The Dark Knight films (Batman is a DC character) by Christopher Nolan if you haven’t seen them yet. The first Batman film is pretty good too, if only to see Michael Keaton don the cowl and Jack Nicholson as a hammy version of the Joker.

It’s certainly one of Dreamworks’ best, and the kind of movie I wouldn’t mind rewatching. Some films, like Up, Prince Of Egypt and The Dark Knight Rises, are good but not ones I would want to watch again because they are emotionally-draining. Others, like Cars and Kung Fu Panda and Iron Man, are good and ones I’d love watching over and over again. HTTYD certainly belongs in the latter camp.

Definitely check out Kung Fu Panda and its sequel, it’s the best portrayal of Chinese culture in an animated film since Mulan. If you want me to recommend another, how about Rio? Its sequel, like HTTYD 2, is coming out next year.

Thanks, I had a blast with that short when I saw Finding Nemo in 3D last year too.

I love IV’s take on animated gargoyles, although the ones in Hunchback ain’t that bad, from what I remembered. Hmmm… maybe I should go for a rewatch and see if I recalled them through nostalgia glasses, haha!

To celebrate the release of Blue Sky’s Epic and Fast & Furious 6, do click on my sig and check out a classic mash-up I made back in 2011. It’s one of my best, and if you’re a fan of Rio the city or the movie, you’re gonna love it!

Coincidentally, a new teaser for Rio’s sequel has just been released, so check that out too!

And keep an eye out for my first mash-up trailer in a year and nine months! Yup, it’s been that long, folks. Old TDIT ain’t getting younger, you know!

You can view my earlier mash-ups at youtube.com/thedriveintheater

Hey, TDIT! Well, I appreciate the films you recommended for me! I would also like to see Rio, particularly before the 2nd one comes out which I already saw the fun teaser for. And I have seen the whole Batman/The Dark Knight trilogy; I think it’s good. I saw one of the old ones a long time ago but I forgot which one, plus I was to young to be watching it. But anyway…

You’re right, Dragon is one of the best DreamWorks films. I think it may grow on me over time. Right now, I just think it’s pretty darn good, but I hear others say it’s super great. I guess I mean it’s equally as great as most of my favorites. Maybe people were just surprised to see that film come out of DreamWorks. But some films take longer for me…I still like it a lot, though. I have only good things to say about it…

I see what you mean about the other movies, but I do like to re-watch some of those. I’m surprised Up is not very hard for me to re-watch considering the stakes, I think it’s the dog and the humor and the action scenes that keep me from losing myself every time I see it. I’ve only seen The Prince of Egypt once but I would watch it again at some point. And The Dark Knight Rises is the same. These films have enough thrill in them for me to watch them every once in a while. Then again, you could say Cars is hard to re-watch with the easy-going pace or watching the characters upset later on the movie. I can re-watch any of those movies in general, but I do see where you’re coming from.

Back on topic, I like your Rio sig!

I also like Leirin’s Monsters University sig!

TDIT’s sig is definitely coolz… I’ll have to make a note and see that parody video of yours! Leirin’s also totally rockin’ her MU sig! Now I have got to get me a new signature! Stay tuned…

LQstudiesPixar - Oh nooo… you shouldn’t have seen the Rio 2 teaser before the first movie! :stuck_out_tongue: Haha, but I think by the fact that there’s a sequel, you would know that neither of the characters in the teaser die in the first movie! :stuck_out_tongue: But it’s all in the journey, and Blu’s adventure of love and flight is certainly one worth taking!

I think Kung Fu Panda was the first Dreamworks film in a long time to take everyone by surprise (since the first Shrek). How to Train Your Dragon was, to use a boxing analogy, the studio’s right cross to its left jab in Panda (the one-two punch). Dreamworks actually made wonderful movies during its traditional-CGI era, like Road to El Dorado, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron and Prince of Egypt. It still amazes me they haven’t released Blu-Rays for these gems (to my knowledge).

Thanks for the praise on my Rio sig! It’s actually an old one, but I took the opportunity to wear it again seeing that Blue Sky’s Epic and Fast & Furious 6 are opening in cinemas this month!

OWP: Haha, thanks. Definitely check it out and drop me a comment on the video or on my fan-videos thread (there’s more parodies you can check out on that thread or my Youtube channel).

Can’t wait to see your new sig too!

I also love Leirin’s avatar-sig combo, which makes it look like the girl (I don’t know which character is it) is causing her bed to sag over a very disgruntled-looking Mike in the lower bunk. If that was an intentional effect, it’s very clever! 8D

My current sig is a great comic I saw on the Merida redesign debacle. While I felt that it was a storm in a teacup (albeit a very dainty, pink teacup with frilly laces not fit for a wild Scottish lass), I can understand how people are upset over the Disney Princess portrayal. I think Disney should have had a focus group or some form of test audience before releasing the design to the general public. The fact that they burned Brenda (presumably, since we will never know the true backroom dealing that happened in her departure) shouldn’t surprise them when she comes back to haunt them.

OMG TDIT, you just made me laugh really hard. 8D It was purely unintentional; but now that I see it, I like it.

I like yours very much.

My new sig involves Back to the Future. I made it last September but never used it.

I love TDIT and David’s.

Pixarfan, it’s perfect. Although it makes me feel guilty…

Six words: I love Incredigirl’s Disney Princesses signature. I was going to try and come up with eleven words (one per princess), but alas, I failed, sow-wee. ;-p

Thank you! I made it myself, very sloppily. My personal image of the Disney Princesses.

Leirin: Hee hee, glad I made you smile. Who’s the kid in the avatar? Thanks for the compliment!

IV: Thanks! I like your Disney Princesses too, what a great line-up! Keep at it, that’s a good sig-making effort.

I also like Pixarfan91’s sig. Oh, if only one could time-travel…

Moving on from the Merida redesign scandal and back to Fast Five! Look out for my next trailer mash-up, my first in a year!

Thanks TDIT!! just realized, I need to add Kida! I wish I was really good with graphics like you and Spirit, but more than looking good, this signature was more about principle. :stuck_out_tongue: 8D

I think your Princesses signature is awesome, IV! Good to see some of those should-be-princesses in your lineup  And hey! My sig has toys… LQ has dragons! (You guys get that reference right?) I love that shot of Hiccup and Toothless! The shot in particular reminds me a tad of Pooh’s Heffalump Movie… the situation of a kid befriending a misunderstood monsterous creature and having to defend him, y’know? Oh, and of course the awesome Terrible Terror dragon! I so wish I didn’t feel so weird about using DW and Disney graphics here…

Oh, thanks

If you ever want help, we maybe could do something for you.

Anyway, I like this one. Like you said, it’s more about the principle.

Aw thanks OWP, 'ya like the dragons. And is that a reference to Hiccup’s opening/closing line in the movie? That’s all I can think of but that was cute just like the movie it’s from. Since I recently watched it, I’m trying to grow as a fan by engaging myself more in the matter, similar to how I used to collect toys to promote my appreciation for a movie. Oh, and it’s fine if you don’t make non-Pixar animation sigs. Hey, it helps to have some boundaries! Similarly, I’ve decided that from now on, I will only have sigs from animated movies/shorts.I’ve learned that those are the only true, honest representations of myself that show who I am. Outside of animated movies can give the wrong message about me, which I don’t want  (unless MAYBE it’s like Star Wars or famous super heroes. Star Wars actually sounds good right about now…) . Yeah, can’t wait for the second movie and Rio 2 next year! After I see Rio, of course ;-p

Aw, and you’re right about Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, that movie was really cute! I remember reading somewhere you hadn’t seen Winnie the Pooh from 2011, but if you still haven’t yet, you’ll love it. I say it’s a perfect Disney film, one of my top favorites along with the original, Snow White, and Wreck-It Ralph in particular. Okay, sorry for geeking out, I just got too excited!

Boundaries are nice, but I think we can’t help what we do with graphics.

We’ve used stuff from almost ANYTHING 8D

Oh no, it most certainly doesn’t apply to everyone. In your case, Spirit, you MUST use signatures representing any of the mediums! What we do without your expertise icons and graphics?! I just meant in some cases, at least for me as someone who has never even made his own sig before. I’m no master. But please, you keep being excellent…

And might I compliment? Your new sig is a brilliant tribute to Les Miserables. My sister is watching it AGAIN right now for like the 50th time, but it’s good.

Oh, don’t worry, I know you were not referring to everyone. And thanks for the compliments.

Thanks OWP and Spirit! I wanted to display all the “princesses”, as well as a few “heroines” who I think could do with more credit, and some of which should be princesses. And I love your Lés Miserables signature Spirit! I’ve been a little obsessed with it lately.

You’re welcome! It’s Katy the Kitty Witch, from the 80s children’s movie Fantastic Adventures of Unico:

IV, I love it! I like how you included non-Princess heroines too, like Jane and Alice. Very nice :sunglasses:
