Just curious? I was never able to get my hands on one. Beisdes the 52 shorts and the movie itself are there any other special features?
I have it! it has two discs:
Disc one has:
The movie
commentary
the legacy of toy story
disc two has:
the making of toy story
behind the scenes (design, music, animation, story enc)
multi language reel
the 52 shorts you mentioned
and… that’s all I can think of at the top of my head.
That’s the US version, right?
The German one has just one disc and thus far less features. Kindof the reverse thing of what happened with Ratatouille.
Manegirl, you may wanna check your pm i’m sending.
I have it, too, but I haven’t really explored the second disc all that much. What are the 52 shorts?
The shorts are called Toy Story Treats, and they were little clips shown on T.V. when they were promoting the film.
The shorts are little menu pictures that are at th bottom or side of the menu. Sorta like Finding Nemo button for virtual aquarium.
Theres something i dont get about this shorts, in “buzz becomes obsolete” they show in the tv a red buzz lightyear, but they are supossed to be only 2 buzz, the one from toy story 1 and the second one , from toy story 2 ,so my question is … are this shorts cannon?
I Don’t know. But I love the happy meal short with the mini characters. Hilarious!
There’s no way the shorts are canon, Sid’s spider baby thing being in Andys room alone should tell you that. Also the fact that Buzz is still deluted. I mean, with the way things happened in the first movie, there was no time for Andy and buzz to get along kind of okay before the move. One event led to another, so this version of thier relationship doesn’t make sense in the context of the movies.
That being said, there’s no rule that says there were only two types of Buzz’s, Id like to think its like the real world, we have tons of buzz’s. Some are repaints, others a bit more bizarre.
Remember, buzz is from a Saturday morning cartoon in thus world. This cartoon could have had many suit upgrades, and those could have been made into toys.
I haven’t got it yet - I’ve seen it in 2 stores so far, i want to pick it up very soon.
I have the Toy Story VHS so I think I’m just going to stick with that until it’s released in 3-D.
I have the Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box that has 3 discs which comprise the first two flicks and then a full disc of extras, but I don’t think it has the 52 shorts mentioned in this thread.
What exactly are these shorts? Are they new bits of animation or what?
I really don’t want to purchase another copy of Toy Story if I don’t have to, but I will if it’s stuff I don’t have…
I have the 10th Ann. edition you’re talking about, and I think I know what those 52 shorts are. They’re like these minute-long clips of random Toy Story animations featuring the characters interacting. Some of them are really, really funny.
JackFrost: I have never seen a case like that before. The one we have is like a plain DVD cover, but on the very front it says “10th Anniversary Edition” or something like that. And it’s a two disc set, as well.

Oh, I think I know what those are - ABC TV had a bunch of Toy Story bumpers for their Saturday morning cartoon programming - I’ll bet those 52 shorts are they.
And I don’t think I have those…
And the 3-disc set I show there was released in 2000, and contains both Toy Story 1 & 2 in addition to the extras.
You can’t tell in the pic, but the box has a clear overlay around it that has the rendered version of Woody and Buzz you see there (Jessie’s on the back) and when you remove it, you can see the wireframes for the characters on the box beneath…
You have to click on Woodys gold badge to access them JackFrost.
No, on the Ultimate Toy Box they are not accessed that way. Its better actually because its right out in the open, not just an easter egg, hidden away. Its on disk 1, called Toy Story Treats.
I have it! I instantly jumped at the chance to get it right away when it came out, along with Toy Story 2, and I’m glad I did because now I can’t find them anymore. Maybe they’ll be brought back on Blu-Ray with Toy Story 3.
I have possesion of the Toy Story 10th Anniversary Edition DVD. Good idea since I don’t have my Toy Story VHS copy (Or lost it somehow), as it means I get to properly experience it with a good digital-to-digital transfer and a smattering of bonus features.
Unfortunately I do not have the DVD. I do own it on VHS along with Toy Story 2(I have TS2 on DVD also). Not many stores have it, not even stores with used DVDs!
