Everybody in my family loves Pixar .
How
about yours ?
Nobody, sadly. Itās not their thing. shrugs Oh well, I still make them watch
a Pixar movie the second we buy it from the store, hehe.
Mmm . . . my brother and myself. He pretty much likes the
fact that theyāre all nuts . . . and how thatās essesntially their philosophy!
My Mumās quite keen on Pixar, which is good, but apart from that, no-one.
My family enjoys Pixar but they arenāt
nearly as obsessed as I am. At least now though they can all identify at least 2/3 of The Holy Trinity and Iām
also pretty sure they all know Brad Bird on sight. ![]()
Letās see, I know a
bunch of PIXAR names, but Iām not so sure whoās the Holy Trinity?? John Lasseterās a given, right? But who
else?
Andrew Stanton
Ed Catmull
Steve Jobs
Brad Bird
Joe Ranft
Bob Peterson
Glenn
McQueen
John Ratzenburger
Ralph Eggleston
Jan Pinkava
Bud Luckey
Pete Doctor
The ones on
top I think are more likely, but thatās all I can think of!
The Holy Trinity - Steve Jobs, Ed Catmull, John Lasseter ![]()
My family really enjoys them, although no one is as geeky as me when it comes to
Pixar in my family. ![]()
Hi!
First post. ![]()
My 3 year old is who got me into Pixar. My mom gave him a Nemo DVD for his 1st birthday.
We didnāt even unwrap it until he was over 18 months oldā¦but he was instantly hooked. I soon
followed.
Even he knows John Lasseter. When we watch DVD extras, he says āJohn Lasseterā. He
then says āJohn Lasseter rules.ā
John Lasseter DOES rule!
Yes, thatās a good thing to instill in your children
as young as possible.
Iām pretty sure my kids will be growing up on Pixar movies, too - once I have
kids, that is.
Most of my family loves Pixar. My momās not as into movies, much less Pixar, as my dad and
sisters are, but she enjoys sitting down with us to watch āFinding Nemoā or such. Itās mostly my
sister Shannon and I who are really into it. She wants to work for Pixar, and Iām just an intense admirer of
their movies and ācorporate philosophyā (i.e. the scooters, tiki rooms, giant paper airplane contests,
etc.).
Iām really the only one.
My parents think the fact that Iām a fanatic is cool and all, but my mom hadnāt seen Monsters, Inc. until the
six days leading up to Cars (just take a guess as to what I did
), and Iām not completely sure whether my
dad really thinks that itās called the āMystic Pizza Truckā or if heās just feigning ignorance, and
my brother canāt understand why youād want to see any movie more than once a year, much less more than once in
theaters. (My brother is a big Fleabie fan, though.
)
To tell the truth, Iāve only met one person
offline whoās anywhere near as big a Pixar fan as I am. ![]()
Everyone in my family is kind of āforcedā to like Pixar because we have a
family member who works there. But I am probably the only one that is totally obsessed with the Incredibles.
Haha! āForcedā. I like the way you put that. But hey, at least
you can be proud to know that youāre a dedicated fan!
As for me? Well,
my whole family loves Pixar. Heck, my dad has some ābuddiesā over there, even though Iāve never met
any of them. He knows John Lassseter, was a friend of Joe Ranft, and knows a couple of other guys that work at
the studio. (Hopefully, Iāll get to meet them one of these daysā¦)
Wow, thatās
amazing, Mitch! And yeah, itād be really great to meet themā¦A good excuse to suck up to your Dad and see what
he can do! ![]()
Haha! āSuck upā! I love these phrases you guys think up. ![]()
Yeah,
maybe I can get my dad to give in⦠![]()
Everyone in my family, both my real family and my āfamilyā of friends here at
school, enjoys Pixar. Iām the biggest Pixar junkie of the lot of us (else I wouldnāt have torn my hair out
trying to get everything together for my internship application last year), but thereās a good deal of Pixar
love. And my friends all listen to me talk about āOMG LOOK AT THOSE NURBS!!!ā and such.
Ed
Catmull has splines named for him. This clearly makes him awesome. And Catmull splines do cool things, though
Iāve worked with Bezier splines more. Yaaay, splines. For now, however, I need to buckle down and work with
GL_TRIANGLES. ![]()
So yes. Most all of my friends will sit down and watch Pixar films with me. I
showed one of my really good friends Monsters, Inc. for the first time this summer, and it made me happy. I love
being able to introduce my friends to awesome films.
