Who Thinks This Is Weird.

I wanted to know how woody went all these years without losing his hat or how potato head went all those years without losing atleast one part or how buzz is still in perfect condition after all these years.
by the way i know its a movie and i know that woody would be lost without his hat and thats why pixar never lets him permanently lose it but i just want to hear what other people think about my question.

Andy was very good with his toys. Of course, he cared a lot about acessories and stuff. Of course, in some sources, Andy accidently lost Woody’s gun that he came with.
Looking at the super HD close-ups in the Toy Story site reveals that these toys definately aren’t new. Even Buzz has some scratches, dings, and his stickers are starting to peel. Overall, they were just treated better than most toys.

hey can i get a link to those hd screen shots or are they just there on the site i would like to check em out they sound pretty cool and also i didnt know woody had a gun makes sense tho cause he does have the holster…

For any of the characters, just load up the HD photos from the wallpapers. The detail is really amazing, as characters liek Hamm and Rex have a lot more wear than you think.

And the subject of Woody’s gun has been debated, but there’s official source material out there that did indeed state this.

Wow i just checked out the pics you gave me the link for and i didnt actually notice how much wear and tear the toys have thanks for the link  .

Probably just b/c Andy was always so careful and loving. <3

yeah after re watching the movies ive come to the conclusion that andy takes great care of his toys one more question tho remember in the elivator scene in Toy Story 2 when rex falls on top of spud head dont u think he would of lost some of his parts when rex fell on him i saw them fly in every direction.

I guess he would…actually I think he did, but maybe I misremember.

no he didnt lose any i just watched the movies in order about an hour ago in the next scene he has all his parts again.

What about Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head’s spare parts? Mr. Potato Head had his spare shoes and angry eyes, while Mrs. Potato Head had her 30+ acessories (the purse got wrecked at Sunnyside).

And, I guess Mr. Potato Head didn’t lose any parts in the elevator. Though likely, that would’ve been a disaster. He probably didn’t have anything additional to what he brought, just so that he wasn’t carrying too much.

yeah i remember his wife packed him extra shoes and angry eyes thats all so if he did lose all his parts in the elevator he would of only had a pair of shoes and eyes on but he didnt lose em i guess so it did not come to that.

I always thought of Woody’s hat like Indiana Jones’ fedora. He never loses it, and would be nothing without it!

They go into more detail in the original script, but his hat is also very valuable, and sets him apart from hatless Woody dolls by a large margin. Though, his struggle to find his hat in the beginning of Toy Story 2 sums it up best.

Lol u said it fast and simple i like that lol indy and woody ive never compared them come to think of it there alot alike

In old Westerns, the hero’s hat never falls off. Ever. I always took it as a reference to old Western classics. You know how John and the crew like referring to things…

The only diffrence of woody to an old western is that his falls of and he loses it two time in TS2 and TS3.Shame upon woody for making cowboys look like dummys that lose there hats jk

That’s true, but I was mostly speaking of the original, not the sequels.

I question if Woody actually had a gun. I mean, think about it. Look at how Woody’s hand is designed when he’s in toy mode. There’s no way the toy could hold any gun he came with so why would he have one?

i dont think he had a gun i just think he had the holster for stylistic reasons i mean whats a cowboy without his hat or a cowboy without a holster its just a part of his outfit plus like you were saying his hand is designed in an open hand form if he was meant to have a gun wouldnt one of his hands have a closed hand design so i think woody coming with a gun idea should just be put to rest.

Plus, maybe a little kid’s toy doesn’t need a gon, even past the hand shape.
