Who wants The Incredibles 2

CC: Brad Bird said that he will not do a sequel unless he has a great story to follow it up. I know Pixar will never do sequels just for the purpose of making money.

I want them to make a sequel REAL bad!! But I don’t think the end was really a CLIFFHANGER. A cliffhanger would be like,so they go down to the forest, into the water, then it shows the dead guy come alive playing creepy music. THAT is a cliffhanger. :sunglasses:

This must be the fourth time I’m posting this Quote from the man in charge of Disney (Yes the person Above Creative Officer Lasseter)

Disney chief executive, Robert A Iger, said the company was focused on delivering “great films”, rather than adopting a blind adherence to commercial pressures. “If a great film gives birth to a franchise, we are the first company to leverage such success,” he said. “A check-the-boxes approach to creativity is more likely to result in blandness and failure.”

Since the Acquisition of Pixar in 2006 the Sequel machine run quiet in Walt Disney Studios… and is remaining to do so under Lasseter… With only Cars and Toy Story… along with Tinkerbell being the only movies the Company have sanctioned for a Sequel since then.

You can point out time and time again that “Disney wants the $$” but Iger himself says that unless it warrants a sequel he’s not going to take the company back down the path of Pre-Pixar bland failures… mainly cause the fans and his creative team won’t allow it… Disney isn’t Dreamworks… Lasseter closed the Circle… and as the New Walt Disney he appears to have the same drive that the man who started it all Did!

Quality over Quantity… Never is an old Cliche is better used here.

I can agree with Iger on his stand on sequels. I am sure he would love for Disney movies to make money, but a smart move on choosing not to make sequels unless it calls for one.

annaborjack: It seems like a cliffhanger because te way Brad Bird ended the movie, he leaves a hint for more adventures. Plus, he doesn’t extend the Incredibles vs Undermine scenario, leaving it up to the viewer’s imagination to figure out what happens next.

i think the the Halo 3 ending was a cliffhanger.

I never saw it.

youtube.com/watch?v=X6fXcr7A … re=related just skip from 5:17 to the end you don’t have to watch the other stuff

also it skips some of it, the rest it keeps on doing the creepy music and it shows and flash of light. :open_mouth:

okay this ones better just skip from 2:44 to 3:20

Ooh, that was intresting. Thanks for sharing annaborjack.

Back on topic now. . .

maybe if they make a TI2 they will show Sydrome come back to life doing the same creepy music and glow :open_mouth:

I doubt Syndrome would come back. From the looks of it, he was killed in the explosion, thanks to his cape. However, there is always a possibility of a return. You know that old saying, “No body, death is suspect.”

Personally, i would love to see a new villain face the Incredibles instead of a recurring villain.

As mentioned earlier (I’m not sure in this thread though), Bird has said he’s willing to do a TI sequel after his workload decreases, and I’m all for believing in him for a good sequel - he never faltered with the first one, so why should he in the second? Sure, Disney may be the mother company, but that’s like saying the brain’s the soul - while Disney may be “all for money” you can’t forget that Pixar is one of the most creative studios out there, and at this rate it’s not going to change.

Mentioned in another thread was that Spencer Fox can’t do the voice anymore, well, obviously grown up. There’s two ways to approach this:

  1. Get another kid that sounds like Dash. Nearly every 1 out of 4 kids I talk to… sound like Dash! No offense to 9-year-old kids, but they do! Pixar does a fine job in recreating voices, and they have a lot on their plate with Cars 2 & TS3 (with the sad deaths), so it’s not like they’re not going to not learn anything from those before making TI2.

  2. Grow up Dash in the storyline. What, Fox is, what, 13-14-15? Just make Dash a freshman in high school (right American term?). Then make Violet a senior. Dash could even be more cocky, being in high school. Personally, I would be disappointed with that, because I’d love to see a sequel with Violet about the same age, but there’s room in the storyline if you grow them up.

I think I would like to see the kids grow up a little bit. Old enough for them to be independent, but not so far up that Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl might consider retirement soon.

If Dash does go through puberty, then that would mean an actor change. BUt I don’t see anything wrong with that.

While I know a lot of people love this movie to death and that it does kinda hint at a sequal, I don’t think I’d want one. The Incredibles wasn’t Pixar’s best film in my opinion, so I’m not looking forward to a sequal. Please don’t feel offended anyone who loves TI, but that’s just me! If you want to know why I don’t like it, just ask. I just don’t feel like writing it all out. Too lazy right now.

I’m intrested to hear your opinion on TI LightningandDoc. I respect that you don’t want a sequel as well.

I would love an Incredibles 2. I personally think that it’s one of the best movies for making a 2 movie out of - it ends with a great story to begin with

But Brad Bird must direct it. He’s my favorite director, I think, because Ratatouille and Incredibles are my favorites.

I see you want it just as much as I do huh mei? I would love Bird to do another one. In fact, I think a TI 2 would fail without him.

i heared Brad really wants to do a squel but he can’t think of a good story :frowning:

I don’t he said he can’t think of a good story. He said that if he is going to do one, he would need the story to be just as good or better than the original.

Sorry, everyone…
I’m one of those fans that are always afraid of sequels after good films. Since watching all those Disney sequels, I have the fear for Pixar’s sequels.
Although, I am looking forward to Toy Story 3, but still fear that it won’t succeed as well as the others.
The Incredibles 2 on the other hand. No. I do not wish for a sequel to come. This is one of those movies with a story you just can’t continue. The ending was perfect, because we, as the audience, knows what will happen, the family of supers will continue saving the world as super heroes. If there were a sequel to that, it could possibly ruin the story, because critics or audiences might prefer the first than the second.
I have to say that I definitely do NOT wish for a sequel for the The Incredibles. But that’s just my own opinion. <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and

Wink" />

I’d have to say The Incredibles would have the best shot at a sequal. BUT, like everyone is saying, Brad Bird would have to direct. Also, they would need a really fantastic idea for a story. I mean, this IS the superhero genre. Even The Incredibles was accused of copying of a couple things.
