Why can't Jessie looks this good at Disney World?

Seriously. I want to get my picture with her at Disney World anyway but if someone like this was posing for pictures

Or better yet this one;

I would probably be fighting through little kids to get that picture 8D

Amen!

This is another reason I’m totally for “human” costumes of Woody, Buzz and Jessie at Disney theme parks instead of the costumes with the giant masks. They look so much more appealing. -Omar

All the characters in pictures from WDW look bad. :frowning:

I’m really opposed to walk-around characters from Pixar movies at Disney Parks. They all look awful, the bug’s life ones and incredibles especially look terrible. And the Monsters inc ones are still not good, and the Ratatouille ones feel so out of place with anything else. And those Carl and Russel ones? Terrifying.

The toy story ones look great by comparison, but that’s probably because I am so used to them. And Lotso looks great, no problems with him.

The full-sized cars characters are also just about perfect, and its a real shame that robotic Wall-e was never actually used.

I really like the ‘human’ versions as opposed to the ones with plastic masks. I think cos’ they’re more emotive and to scale.

Same! I refused to take pictures with Buzz and Woody last trip to Disney because the masks are off-putting, even if the rest of the costume is good. I don’t know why. I think the eyes look the strangest. It kinda seeps into ‘Uncanny Valley’ territory if you know what I mean.

Haha, I did an entire paper on that… I know what you mean.

I agree that Woody, Jessie and Buzz should be real people.

When I was 8 and at DisneyLand, I took a picture with Woody. I look at that picture now, and I realize that I looked absolutely terrified. Like, “Ohmygosh, I want to run and hide” kind of terrified.

It’s one of those, nice costume, but I think he’s going to eat me right after the picture is taken, type of thoughts.

Human characters would make Woody, Buss, Jessie etc more personable and not as frightening for very small kids. Sometimes I see the videos of kids meeting Woody, Buzz etc and there’s this initial shock and it looks like they rather afraid at first, and then the parent nudges them on. -Omar

I like they way they already look. I like them looking more like toys than humans.

I am for removal of the giant masks. Gives them more personality and gives kids the chance to talk to them  Sure some characters are fine as they are, (eg Lotso, and all the classic characters, also Jack Skellington’s costume is amazing with the half masks allowing him to sing) I just feel that Woody, Jessie and Buzz would be much improved without the creepy masks.

That’s so cool! It’s actually a very interesting phenomena…

Disney is experimenting with new character masks that have moving lips and can talk in the characters voice. It’s cool, but this clip of Mickey showing off the new technology gives me the creeps.

OMG They’re still experimenting with that? That’s awesome! I saw them do this about a year ago and heard nothing afterward. that’s so cool!!

And then Mickey killed them both

I really don’t care for masked characters - Lotso, sure why not because he’s a bear and all. - But those talking masks remind me of Country Bear Jamboree and the robots in the Epcot Center etc. Really scary stuff.

Give me a human Woody, (oh gad that came out wrong), Buzz Bo Peep or Jessie any day.

And yes, as someone asked earlier, Bo Peep currently has a mask, which I didn’t know until just now

Although, some cosplayers have the right idea on human TS characters

-Omar

Bo Peep doesn’t look bad with the mask, actually. The others bother me though.

Haha cosplayers! Are they Asian? Yeah, they always get it right…
