Ya’ll know it’s true!
Actually, I’m never tired late at night. And that’s when I usually watch movies… Maybe I should give it another chance? But like I said, I don’t hate it. It’s not bad at all.
I don’t think people hate this movie…?
They just merely don’t think it’s as good as Pixar’s other stupidly good, high standards movies, that doesn’t equal HATING it ;D
That was great
Well, I’ve successfully brain washed my brother into adoring Cars, Toy Story, Wall-E, Up, A Bug’s Life, The Incredibles…I’m doing well.
Good job, IV!
Thanks!! I’m good at making minions of close relatives
Some people say this is the weakest Pixar movie, but i actually liked it, despite being for kids.
It had its adult moments, at least for me.

I love that scene. To me the emotional scenes are much more adult than the fart jokes. They make me so happy I sometimes cry.
They are beautiful together.
Yes, they are. I just hope a potential offspring wouldn’t be purple, though. I hate purple. I hope they have a red baby. Red is good.
I don’t think it’s a “kids movie”. I think it’s like all Pixar films, in fact most animated films today. A movie that can be enjoyed by all generations.
This has plagued me as well. I almost thought I should try to write an article on this thing.
There’s more vitriol towards Cars than even A Bug’s Life.
People can accept talking fish, toys and bugs…but talking Cars makes people suddenly go, ‘oh that’s just a stupid kids cartoon.’
For me personally, I don’t hate Cars and I certainly don’t hat the movie, but I just thought that it lacked the interpersonal relationship that PIXAR films really connect with their audiences. It was a fun film but I sort of found it lacking in the spiritual and emotional quality of other Pixar films. In essence it’s pretty much the standard “Jerk Becomes Friendly By End Of Film” which may be creative for any other studio, but for PIXAR (considering that they actually opted against this in the first Toy Story) it’s really not a creative character development.
Also, while I don’t really have an issue against “Cars coming to life”, the fact that everything is pretty much hand waved- how the society got created, who builds these cars, etc., was pretty annoying. At least with Toy Story, A Bugs Life, Finding Nemo and WALL-E their world’s coexisted with ours so the willing suspension of disbelief was slightly more plausible.
I will say that ever since Cars Toons debuted, my opinions have slowly grown towards the characters.
I connected with the film very well, more so than a film like Ratatouille, and it’s a cartoon, you can make anything come to life,it dosen’t have to make sense…
Maybe that’s the point, eh? Since Pixar realizes that people aren’t into the characters, so they are trying to grow them to you. I love the movie dearly, but yes, the CT’s certainly don’t hurt my feelings for Mater and Lightning.
