Why does everyone hate this movie?

Yeah, like what happened with Twilight. It got a lot more attention than some thought it deserved, so everyone started throwing mud on it. Makes me sad

mentalguru:Ok,so if pixar brought to life lamps, knick knacks, and robots they can’t do the same with Cars?

Again I agree with Danachii it’s just jumping on the bandwagon. That’s pityful how people allow other peoples opinions determine weither something is good or not shakes head  :frowning: .And while I will admit that Cars has some “stereotypical” and “cliche” refrences, that’s not the point of the movie, the point is to learn how to enjoy the simpler things in life, and why friendship, family and love are more important than fame and money. And let’s be honest what movie dosen’t have those things  ?I think it’s really old to still 4yrs later be unfairly bashing a movie…but that’s just me… :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow! I can’t believe how many people don’t like this movie! :open_mouth:

I just got it friday and watched it for the first time. I loooooove Cars! It’s one of their funniest movies! And I liked the thrill of the beginning.(I love movies with action) And my parents like it too. It’s different from Pixar’s other movies, but I still think it’s good. And I liked it that they finally made a movie with countryfolk in it.(or cars I should say.) I like it so much, I’ve already drawn myself as a car.

Anyway, I think it’s a lot better than A Bug’s Life and Ratatouille. But that’s just my opinion.

Yeah, I was always really confused why people didn’t like Cars that much. Whenever I talk to people about Pixar they say “Oh yeah, those movies are all good except for Cars” Cars was really good! It’s what got me started with Pixar.

I personally don’t hate it! It may be my least favorite Pixar film, but y’know, in a weird way that’s kind of a compliment. It’s enjoyable, has some great character development, and the animation is beautiful. Plus, it takes skill to pull off a movie about talking cars so wonderfully- I have no doubt it wouldn’t be nearly as good if it was made by any other company.

I hope y’all don’t mind me popping into the conversation, but I seriously LOVE this film. It’s definitely one of my favorites. I think one of the reasons I love it is I’ve driven route 66/I-40 with my Dad from Amarillo to Los Angeles three times. (The last two times I had the Cars soundtrack on repeat the whole drive. ) And you know, it’s amazing how much research Pixar did. It’s truly amazing to drive down this road and see all of the history. Even on 40 you notice all of the ‘mom & pop’ businesses that have gone out of business with their beautiful signs hanging by a thread. Also, there’s this stretch somewhere in Arizona where there are these BEAUTIFUL sandstone cliffs that look so much like the cliffs in cars… minus the car shape.

When we went on the trip in '04 we drove a bit on old route 66 (which is very torn up) and I remember there was this town where there was only one shop open that wasn’t much bigger than my room. We went in to get a coke and the old lady running it was very excited we stopped by.

The Mother Road is an experience that not many people get the chance to well, experience. I believe Pixar captured it perfectly.

This is totally random, but Our Town came on shuffle while I was typing this. x]

The first time I saw Cars I, unfortunately, fell alseep during the middle. So I watched it a second time, almost fell asleep again, but I made it through xD ( I shouldn’t watch movies late at night) I don’t really think this movie is bad, it’s just kinda boring… :stuck_out_tongue:

How can you say it’s boring when you watched it late at night when your’e naturally tired? :stuck_out_tongue:

Wait, people hate this movie? :open_mouth:

I know ridiculous huh?

It’s just opinions. Keep your head up.

Last night I was watching the movie on Blu-Ray (yes, I finally decided to get a Blu-Ray player for watching Pixar films) and one of the things in the behind the scenes stuff that spoke to me was just John saying how much work they had to do to make the buildings in Radiator Springs look old and dated while knowing that the computer wants things to look simple and clean. How could you not appreciate that?

The problem is,people always like to look at the negative, and not the positive, most people don’t even care to notice things like that… :unamused:

When that happens, do the same. Don’t even care to notice the bad. Nothing good comes out of bad.

I like this one, but I can understand why people would dislike it. The characters aren’t too likeable and the whole theme around talking cars isn’t executed in the best way.

Whatcha mean?

In my opinion, I don’t find characters in Cars to be as likeable as characters in other films. I also think the talking cars theme could have been executed a bit better.

No,what I mean is about talking Cars…

Well, just the theme of cars, that talk and act like humans.

Ah…the car thing never bothered me. I really like Cars; it’s tied with Ratatouille for my 3rd favorite. A lot of people at school hate it, though…
