Well, I’m 15, and I really am a big vinyl fan. I listened
to my MP3’d and CD’s up unti recently, when I raided my loft and found a few of my dad’s albums, but it was
bands I listen to still (The Pixies).
And I just love the charm. I like how it’s physical, not digital,
and I actually like the crackling.
Your thoughts.
I remember the good ol’ days of listening to my Disney records and all my various
casette tapes, but mp3s rule my world today. I have mp3s of songs I could never get in any other
form.

I can understand how you would prefer the vinyl, and I
agree that it takes you back to a better time. I however, like being able to transport my music with me and
carrying it everywhere and such. It’s just a convenience thing. I think vinyls just look cool though.
Good point, JL. That’s an advantage I didn’t think
of.

Listening to
vinyls is impossible for me since… I don’t have a record player. I’m perfectly fine with mp3s, but I also
like CDs and cassettes. Whatever way I have to listen to music. But I don’t mind heading to my university
library every now and then and listening to a vinyl recording of George Crumb.

LOL, it’s just cool to listen to a record , don’t know why, nostalgia maybe.
I hate tapes, completely
pointless. And I’m saying that, I’ll download an album as well as get it off eBay in vinyl form also.
Vinyls have that kind of realistic quality that sharp, perfected music doesn’t
have.
Though I have no vinyl, I loved listening to this “obviously recorded a long time ago” video of Louis
Armstrong. Yeah. it was fuzzy & crackling, but it did seem so natural and well put.
Actually it
reminds me of the stellar animation they did at the beginning of The
Incredibles.
