Why would they do this? (WARNING: Spoilers for TS3)

Yup. I’m not much of a ‘Sid’ guy. But like lizardgirl said, that product is so badly conceived, it’s hilarious!

Okay :shake: hugs Woody for his dear life I was a little scared there.

This thread will remain open for the reasons that IV has cited, in that it is specific to this particular Lego set and is questioning why such a Lego set would have been made in the first place. Plus, as IV said, it’s not worth arguing about.

Thanks lizardgirl. I wasn’t trying to bring attention to arguing about Toy Story 3 lego toys, I just wanted to give everybody a good laugh. Thank you too IV.

This is far worse then the Lego set

That’s exactly the game I mention on the first page. Not only that, but when you catch a toy you put them in the “safe zone” in the middle. The front of the box on that thing is just as bad too, showing 2 of the main characters scared for their lives.

As a fan of Lego sets in general as well as Toy Story, I’m not that offended by the set, as Lego always makes a set of the climax of a movie based on what they’re given by the license holder (in this case, Pixar through Disney licensing). That the moment is so emotionally charged and held in such regard was an unintended side effect of that process.

That game, though, is much worse- the company had a choice of what to pick to make a game of; that was definitely a bad one. Also, the description and rules just scream ‘bad taste’.

Lift the toys to safety… before it’s too late!? That’s a little morbid even for board game standards. That’s like making a wrong move in Life will result in your character’s death.

That’s because that’s a pretty literal comparison. I totally aggree with the game being worse than the Lego set. If they so desperatly wanted to make a game from Toy Story, they could have done the same mechanics and gameplay, but theme it to using the claw to pull out Aliens before other players.

No problem  I just thought this thread was different enough from the other to be kept.

Umm, why are we so afraid of death scenerios? Kids love that stuff.

Yes kids love death scenarios when the villain is hanging off the edge of a cliff. Not when beloved characters are holding hands facing death and pretty much every person who was watching a cinema screen with this scene on was crying.

I still don’t like this Lego set.

As Lego sets go, in terms of build etc, it’s pretty sucky…

I don’t really think it’s particularly SICK or anything…I mean, it’s the finale of the film - infact most of the set is based on the running along the conveyer belt thing anyway.

Yes, but the difference here is that the heroes actually accepted their demise. Instead of an action-packed scene, it’s supposed to be more emotional.

But the set isn’t of all the characters holding hands, it’s of them trying to escape the whole thing. The actual firey bit isn’t a big part of the set - it’s mainly about the action sequence before it.

In case anyone is interested, I found a review of the set in question. And Kyle, the reviewer seems to love that, just like you said. Then again, he seems to know very little about Toy Story in general, he always gives them lower reviews for older crowds because “Since it’s Toy Story older kids won’t like it as much as the younger ones”. Anyway, I thought i’d share.

It could be worse.

Based on your favorite play, LEGO LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS! Remember the heart wrenching scene where [spoil]Audrey dies[/spoil]? NOW YOUR KIDDIES CAN RE-ENACT IT! YAAAAAAY!

Taking a closer look at this I think it is a very fun looking set and I might even buy it. The Incinerator isn’t the main part of the set. It is only a tiny pit compared to what it could have been, it is meant to be the sort of death/escape situation kids love to act out, it doesn’t show the Incinerator as the main body of the toy and as I said before it’s just a small pit here. Kids will love making Lotso conrol the conveyor, sending Woody and Hamm towards the pit, at the last second the aliens rescue them, swing them onto Lotso’s platform and bring him to justice. This set is more of a platform or play and not a re-enactment of a scene that made me cry.

Three words: Mwa. Ha. Ha. 8D Seriously, why would they do that?!
