Whee ! I can’t wait ! Going this Saturday , even though
I still haven’t finished the book . I’ve been listening to I’m Not That Girl
lately , for at the moment it pretty much is my life at school .

When was the first Broadway production of Wicked shown on Broadway?
TSS - 3 years ago , in 2003 .
I saw the play yesterday , and I would like to say
…
I was totally Wicked ! ( heh heh , i made a pun eithout even knowing it
)
I loved the Time Dragon . How beautiful was that ? The popular scene really made me crack up . It’s
even funnier than the song itself ! ![]()
Of course I got my $40 t-shirt that I wanted ( I <3 OZ ) .
My dad’s making me pay for 1/2 of it , and my mom doesn’t blame him . Then again , she doesn’t blame me for
wanting the t-shirt . I have a feeling it will be missing in my closet soon . lol
I had to love what
Elphaba said to Glinda though :
[spoil] " Well we can’t all fly in a
bubble ! [/spoil]
Everyone in the theater started laughing . That
has to be my favorite part .
So if you haven’t seen it , what are you waiting for ? go ! ![]()

I had that opportunity. It came to my home town, but I
didn’t want to watch it. Big, BIG mistake on my part.
The only reason I have any clue of what you people are on
about is thanks to the royal variety show. . . Wicked looks realy wicked and funnily enough I bought the book
earlier today (what are the chances?
)
As a side thought, i also saw a bit of avenue Q and I really
want to see that . . . *Lanny imagines a plane to take her there and some tickets so she can get in. . .
Just to let some of the younger kids know ( not u Lanny ,
i know your not a younger kid , your more like of an adult ) , the book does have some PG-13 ( maybe even higher
) chapters . Also , the play is more enjoyable than the book . It’s more funny . ![]()
But the musical looks oh so swwt.
Why would the book include PG-13 material?
um
…how can i put
this… the love with fiyero and elphaba was a little more serious than in the play .
The
novel is aimed at an adult audience - it has cursing, a lot of political content that was based around the events
of the Gulf War, and some sex scenes - the scene at the Philosophy Club is particularly graphic. There’s also a
fair bit of violence ![]()
It might help to know that the musical is actually based on a synopsis of the
book, pretty much. I don’t think Winnie Holzman or Stephen Schwartz read it (or really read it properly) while
they were writing and workshopping the play… Or so they’ve said in interviews! There are basic plot points
extracted but the themes in the musical are drastically watered down from the book.
I actually like the
book better, though - I read it first, and had a total love-hate relationship, where I’d throw it away swearing
I’d never read another word, and seconds later I’d be two pages on XD
I feel so honoured
first time I’ve heard that one
What is your favorite part? And why? I am getting intrested. ![]()
Book : When Galinda is on the train with Professor Dillamond . It’s so funny
!
Musical : " One Short Day " and " Wicked Witch of The East " have to be my two
favorite scenes . I love the dancing in One Short Day and the story about how the tin man became the tin man was
incredible . Poor Boq . ![]()
Sorry to bring up an old topic , but I am so mad at the sheet music people ! They
don’t print the whole song ! I mean - HELLO ! - what if people need to preform it in a school play or something
. Not even all of No One Mourns The Wicked , or - get ready to gasp-
Defying Gravity
!
There goes for getting my future high school to do it for a play . And I was so born to
play Elphaba ! I can even recite that chanting in the brgnning of No Good Deed - which of course no longer
matters since they cut that part out . I don’t even want to know what they cut out of Dancing Through Life ,
Wonderful , and What Is This Feeling . I bet you they cut out the Blond part , which is my favorite part in the
song ! mean people . Why can’t they cut out parts of their own songs .

I have a pair of female friends who are going to sing a song from Wicked for a choir
concert coming up. I am so excited, cause I have never heard this song before.
Hmm , females ,
friends , i’m guessing they’ll be singing For Good .
Actually, they gave me a preview durring my choir class. It is a song called "What is this
feeling?"
Ah , that was going to be my second guess . Are they singing the oringinal
version or the one the people chopped all up . The original is funny because it has all the other people siding
with Galinda . Galinda’s first few lines are funny too :
'Dearest and Darlingest momsie and popsicle ’
(g)
’ my dear father '(e)
’ there’s been some confusion over rooming here at shiz ’ (both)
’ but
of course i’ll care for nessa ’ (e)
’ but of course i’ll rise above it ’ (g)
’ for i know that’s how
you’d want me to respond , yes
there’s been some confusion for you see my roomate is … ’ (b)
’
unusually and excedingly percular and all together quite impossible to describe ’ (g)
’ blonde ’
(e)
i’m so smart . i just remembered that from memory .
As a matter a fact, that was the exact same thing that they said before they
sang the song. It is so incredibly funny. And the harmony is beautiful as well.
Hee hee , i just noticed that they probably did the song by the karaoke version , not by the
music you can buy . The karaoke version is the whole song . So , who doing the part of the classmates , you know
’ dear galingda you are just to good ! ’ and all that ? Would that be you ?
Well GLp, we aren’t doing the actual musical. We just have two people in my chior class doing it as a solo
number. ![]()
