Winnie the Pooh (2011)

I’m dying to see it, but there’s no chance I’ll get to see it when it opens. :frowning: Maybe not even the theater.

Exactly, classic Pooh stories aren’t complex, and the simplicity is what makes the movies so fantastic.

So, I’ve watched Winnie the Pooh yesterday and I really loved it. The story was quite simple and the animation was great. The voice actors have done a good job, in my opinion, and I really liked the songs and the music. My favorite song is probaly the one about the Backson.
The movie starts with the usual view around Christopher Robin’s bedroom, only it loooks quite different as do the plushies. I think it was mentioned in the credits that they are from the Disney Store. Oh yes, speaking of credits, stay for the credits.

And no stuffed animals were harmed in making this film.

Overall, a lovely and fun film.

Were the plushies from the Disney Style or the Classic Pooh line? The Classic Pooh toys are the ones based on E. H. Shepard’s illustrations.

Thanks for the review, WON!

PixarBuilder - They were in Disney Style. Example, the Roo plushie wore his blue pullover which the one from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh didn’t wear.

IV - You’re welcome.

Today I had a huge surprise, I just realize that Winnie The Pooh is gonna be released tomorrow ( May 6th), I blame Disney for have not promoted it  , I haven’t even seen any billboard outside the cinemas, , Now this is the pick of the week, Winnie The Pooh, there I go

Eeep! Well I guess I should remind everyone in the US that the movie comes out here next week  I know you all have probably already seen the clips and read the reviews, but I’ll share two new fun TV spots just for fun

TV Spot - The Final Battle
TV Spot - How Do You Spell Adventure?

I’m glad I’m not too old to say this- Can’t wait for more Pooh!

I know on a lot of other forums I visit, people have complained about the lack of marketing on Disney’s part for this film. I hope this fares well against HP7

^^this is true, there really has been very little marketing for it. Maybe because all of the bus poster and billboard slots were taken by WB for HP7.

Don’t predict it doing too well against Harry. Which is a shame- normally I’d be right there opening weekend, but Potter nostalgia definitely takes precedent over Pooh nostalgia. I was a huge Pooh fan for a year or two when I was in preschool; I’ve been a semi-rabid HP fan for ten years now. I think most people will probably think the same way as me, especially with the lack of advertising. Haven’t even seen a TV spot for Pooh yet- how will the parents of preschoolers know about it?

I’m excited for this movie as well, but I have to say who ever’s idea it was to have the movie premier as the same day as the last Harry Potter movie, is an idiot.

Even if one doesn’t like Harry Potter, there’s no denying that having a movie premier on the same day is box office suicide. Same with Twilight movies.

I’m seeing the midnight premier of Harry Potter, but I defintely plan to see Winnie the Pooh at a later date.

Yeah, I do kind of think that if 2D features are ever going to be as successful as they used to be for Disney that one thing they should do is give them as much publicity as they do Pixar (or maybe DreamWorks). Think of all the marketing and awareness Disney had for Aladdin, The Lion King, and even A Goofy Movie. Or perhaps a better example would be back in 1999 when they had some strong awareness for both Toy Story 2 and Tarzan at the same time.

From the commercials I’ve seen, it actually looks pretty decent. I think it wont fair too well at the box office since the film was barely promoted and marketed. But you never know, 100M is still possible. I don’t like how it’s opening the same day as HP7. Potter could be too intense for some young children and they might want to see Pooh.

Yeah, whoever chose July 15 is living under a rock. And I love Pooh, and want to see it so badly and it kills me that I can’t see it opening day. Maybe that weekend, but not opening day. I know this will be lovely and emotional, cause all the Pooh films always got my crying somehow. I just love them. And the song in the commercials is beautiful too! My heart melts when I hear it

I’d rather watch Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn than this. Christopher Robin with a British voice bothers me. I don’t even care if the voice actors from the 1989-1991 show “The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” are dead, they still should’ve come back from beyond to voice the characters in this movie.

I love this one!! 8D

They are just glad i haven’t seen the harry pottter movies or i’d see that instead of this,.

:astonished: You’ve never seen a Harry Potter movie?

L_o_F - I actually like that Christopher has a British voice! It’s a nice nod to the storie’s orgin. Pooh creator A.A. Milne created Winnie the Pooh for his son, who like him was English.

I’ve never seen or read Harry Potter, either. I’m one of those kids whose parents insist it’s Satanic 8D

Leirin,I can’t honestly tell if you are serious or comedic…

Anyway, I really want to see both on opening weekend, depending on which of my friends would like to see which. I’ll probably end up seeing Harry Potter on Friday night because it’s, well, Harry freakin Potter but Pooh I think I will see Sunday.
