Or Toy Story 2 for that matter. People can have their own interpretations, but there’s been no doubt that Buzz and Jessie were a couple since Toy Story 2.
We’re all adults here, most of us- I forgot what the minimum age restriction here was.
If some people want to ship Buzz and Woody, that’s their choice. If some people want to ship Woody and Jessie, that’s their choice. I personally chose to ship Buzz and Jessie; and Woody and Bo, but that’s my personal choice.
I was just wondering what some people did in their fiction or artwork to respond to TS3’s depiction of Buzz and Jessie as a sure fire couple, just as Woody and Bo kissing under the mistletoe at the ent of TS made them, in my mind at least, a couple, further solidified when Andy has Bo and Woody kiss during his play scenarios -Omar
Well, I’ve never been a Woody/Jessie shipper, but this is where the concept of the Alternate Universe comes in handy! Just split off your timeline before the “catastrophe” that messed up your perfect ship, and do whatever you want, mwahahaha!
I still don’t understand Woody/Jessie. I mean, they made it quite clear Woody was annoyed by Jessie, and Buzz…well, he was turned on. I personally think Jessie is too fiery for Woody, and Woody’s too serious for her. Like you said, that’s a personal choice, but I still find that pairing revolting.
Now, back to the thread. I guess they just decide to ignore every fact of reality and pretend they created the TS series, then recreate the movies themselves, how they wanted them. Like the Lord of the Rings fans!
This may not be fair, but I kind of think of the Woody/Jessie shippers as being akin to the Harry/Hermione shippers from the Harry Potter fandom - my guess there is that they are mainly girls who relate to Hermione, and are crushing on Harry (or more likely Daniel Radcliffe), so they want to get those two together. I would guess that’s usually the motivation behind a lot of “against canon” ships. I never thought of Woody/Jessie as a romantic couple, and I’ve loved the whole idea of Buzz/Jessie since it was first brought up at the end of TS2. (Oh, and I’m a total Ron/Hermione shipper; I thought from the very first book that they should end up together, because they seemed like the classic “Screwball Comedy Romance” couple.)
Wow, I didn’t think so many people would agree with me. Yeah I’m a die hard Buzz/Jessie shipper - because 1) its canon and 2) they’re so darn cute together. -Omar
I agree completely. Everyone’s entitled to their feelings/opinion, but this Woody/Jessie thing has gotten way out of hand. I respect them. I really do. But shoving it in everyone’s face is lame.
At first, for me, I really liked the whole Buzz/jessie thing… and I still do, but I do like the idea of Woody and Jessie toghether more. I like both. But I’m also not, as you said rock-itpop a “die for our pairing” shipper. And I try not to say that I like this couple because there’s people that think that the idea of putting these two together is sick, and so on…
^ Oh, those are incredibly common. Personally, I’m surprised you only saw one. As a dear friend of mine once said, “There’s slash for everything.” Go on Fanfiction.net, DeviantArt, Youtube, and you’ll find plenty of Buzz/Woody shippers.
