Yeah, I mentioned that earlier, but I think it might just be a little joke.

As for sources, there’s:

1. Deleted scene
2. It was mentioned as being lost in a character profile
3. Woody mentions it being lost at Toy Story Mania

Not saying anyone’s right or wrong, but until there’s an official confirmation from Pixar, nothing’s official. And please read a little more closely.

Woody
A traditional pull-string cowboy who has misplaced his hand gun years ago. Woody has always been six-year-old Andy’s favorite toy. Being the favorite means being the best toy he can be so that Andy will be happy. It also means keeping the peace among the other toys and listening to their dreams and fears, especially their greatest fear of being replaced. A true leader, Woody keeps his cool, never worrying about becoming obsolete. That is, until Buzz Lightyear arrives.

The reason I mentioned the Toy Story Mania tidbit was because it matched up with this source, as well as KarmaWolf’s account. I’ll try to ask Lee Unkrich about it.
