Pride. His name is Woody Pride. Lee Unrich just tweeted this new info. It wasnt mentioned in the movies, and wont be used in Toy Story 3 either, but its been known internally since the beginning. in fact he wasn’t sure if it had gotten out or not, so he asked if anyone knew, and no one did.

That is awesome! I’m just dissappointed that it won’t be in Toy Story 3, although maybe the audience would be confused if someone just used it randomly.
That is so weird. I never thought toys had a surname unless it was part of the brand, like ‘Buzz Lightyear’. I do like it though, ‘Woody Pride’ definitely has a ring to it.
That sounds so cute, I wonder what Jessie’s last name would be. Lol, it would help people figure out how those two are related since alot of people see them as a brother and sister type.
When I think about it those two never had (or announced their last names), to my knowledge and a few other toys didn’t either… lol.
I dont think any of the characters really had last names. Buzz has lightyear (that is his last night right? not just a code name for a branch or something right?) but other than that, who else has one? Do we even know Andy’s?
I would never guessed Woody’s last name would be Pride. IMO it does suit him. I wonder why they never got to mention it during TS/TS2… I know it’s not nessessary, but it’s a thing that does have a lot of influence on the character we currently know it as.
