Worst Pixar Joke EVER

What is the worst joke Pixar has ever done in one of their movies or short films?
I’d have to say in Up when [spoil]Dug says something like “It’s on the (barks) roof!”[/spoil]
(Feel free to correct that ffdude1906!)

Actually it’s [spoil]“Yeah, get off of his ROOF!”[/spoil] :stuck_out_tongue:

The worst Pixar joke is probably the whole breakfast thing in the intro of Cars. It just makes me groan. :unamused:

Thanks for that Bryko (and I love the new sig! Beat me to it,…)

Worst joke,… I’d say the part in Up where [spoil]Carl and Russell meet Muntz, "You’re not after my bird are ya? Hehe, but if you need to borrow a cup of sugar, I’d be happy to oblige! HEHE![/spoil]

Ugh, it’s terrible!

Then there’s the joke [spoil]that Dug tells when Carl and Russell are pulling Kevin on the house[/spoil] but that one is so bad, it’s awesome.

LOL. My dad laughed at that. It’s not really supposed to be a joke, just sort of a sarcastic remark.

I agree with 1986, although I’m sure there are more lame jokes in Pixar movies; I just can’t think of any off the top of my head.

It’s sad we bring the issue of lame jokes up even with Pixar, huh?

little chef

hhmmm, worst joke? One I never really liked was in Cars when Mater’s talking about some girl he used to know and he says something like “I used to run in to her just so I could talk to her” And Lightning says “what are you talking about”, to which mater replies “I don’t know, hey, you want to go do something fun!”. I was like “Uh, OK?”

I don’t know, my family really seems to like that joke. Maybe it’s just me.

I’m not sure if I can think of a ‘worst joke’. Either a joke is funny to me or it isnt, but that doesnt mean its the worst, its just that I dont find it amusing. That being said, I still cant think of one that I hate off the top of my head…Maybe one will come to me though.

The worst joke per se is the Cars one: "You did what in his cup?"… funny, but terrible. :-\

The most confusing joke to me is in Monsters, Inc. when Randall says “Hear that. It’s the winds of change…” I never really understood it.

Really? To me that was one of the funniest jokes in Up!

[spoil]Dug’s joke[/spoil]. Don’t get it, and annoying.

chef: Yeah, that one’s supposed to be bad. That’s the whole point. Same with the one I mentioned up there. (and I mentioned yours too I believe)

Not so much a joke as more of entire scenes… any of Lightning’s dream sequences in Cars is particularly cringe-worthy… I know it’s suppose to be a glimpse into his intense narcissism and a satire on celebrity endorsements and all that (and maybe that’s the point), but Jeez-us Chrysler, a bit OTT, much? :stuck_out_tongue:

For Up, I found the [spoil]‘Woof’ pun[/spoil] cute, and I especially loved the non-sequitur-ness of the [spoil]‘squirrel joke’ Dug recounts (dogs have a weird sense of humour!)[/spoil]. I was like, “Is that the punchline?” 8D

I’m sure there are more than enough bad Pixar jokes to go around, gotta watch again to find those ‘groaners’.

ffdude1906: But it’s not funny. At all. LOL

I agree with Phileas, that one from Cars doesn’t even make me laugh in shame. It just makes me want to shake my head. Or possibly facepalm.

Rachel- I’m not sure if that was meant to be a joke or just an example of Randall’s slight weirdness.

are we talking about the very beginning ‘dream’ sequence in Cars? I never found that funny either, mainly cuz I dont think it’s meant to be a joke. It’s just Lightning giving himself a pep talk.

No, I didn’t mean the pep talks. I actually enjoy that, cos’ we sometimes do that when facing a bit event (audience connection). I was referring to those fantasy daydreams where he imagines he’s already won Dinoco as sponsor, complete with War of the Worlds and entertainment magazine references. The one with Chicks winning Dinoco and gloating, as well as the nightmare with Frank are also eyeball-rolling worthy (IMO).

To me, “worst joke” isn’t one that makes you chuckle, even with embarrassment that you found it funny. That’s why for me [spoil]“He did WHAT in his cup?”[/spoil] is still a pretty good joke. A really bad joke in a Pixar film would be one that is trying to be funny, that tries to the make the audience laugh, but instead falls down flat. You can imagine the crickets during those moments.

The most glaring example of that (and again, this is just my personal taste) comes from Cars, when [spoil]McQueen yells after the retreating minivans “My IQ is dropping by the second! I’m becoming one of the them!”[/spoil] Not funny. It just seemed to be a much lower level of humor than in past productions.

Personally, that seemed like more of a line to help get the point to the audience that Lightning is pretty much a…well, jerk. Not so much to get the audience to hate the guy, but just to make sure the point had been made.

Just my interpretation though. =P

“He did what in his cup?” It found it funny for about five seconds, but it doesn’t seem like it belongs in a Pixar film.

I’ve said it before, but “I’d give my left two lug nuts to work with her” makes me cringe.
