The “Lincoln Logs” joke in TS3 is so embarrassing. Did marketing force them to put it in the trailer or something? UGH.
Rotten Tomatoes did a mediocre video podcast review of Toy Story 3, basically citing this joke as a reason to dismiss the film as kiddie fodder. The people doing the podcast are vacant and surface-level anyway though (and targeting a similar audience), so their lack of endorsement for TS3 is not much of a loss.
Ugh… lincoln logs. That’s like a Dreamworks kind of ‘over the kiddies head’ joke.
Though, I was in a good mood and guffawed when I watched TS3 in cinemas. Unfortunately, I was one of the few in the audience who caught the meaning. Hardly anyone laughed. True story.
Pixar, you’re better than this.
It’s not really a joke, but someone in the Rust-Eze crowd near the beginning of Cars said “that race was a pi**er!”.
Really.
If people think the Lincoln Logs joke is rather ‘low,’ don’t forget the scene at the Bug Bar:
“Hey! Who ordered the poo-poo platter?”
There’s alot of corny one-liners in A Bug’s Life.
One that comes to mind is when Francis and Stretch try to cheer up Flik and Francis knocks Stretch around and he falls: “Slapstick…get it?”
The jokes don’t bother me. They’re usually pretty funny because they’re remote and little kids don’t get them.
Up’s humour was… interesting at points. (And by interesting I mean to say cringy). The ‘roof’ joke. The ‘cup of sugar joke’… ugh.
Cars ‘cup’ joke wasn’t the best either.
TS3 itself had dicey moments though. Like the lincoln logs one as well as the fact the very beginning of the movie itself (in Andy’s imagination), while trying to be funny and attention grabbing just made me eye roll. It wasn’t the best beginning for a movie really in my opinion.
And yeah Spanish Buzz… kind of got old for me real quick. It’s weird there were some excellent dark as well as very touching bits but I do have gripes with this movie at points.
My least favorite Pixar joke that I can think of at this moment is during Up when Dug says “Yeah, get off of his woof!”
I loved that joke!
-Like Baget said, farts and burps jokes. They annoy me.
-Like Rachelcakes said, “the winds of change”. I don´t understand that joke
I almost didn’t want to see Finding Nemo when the trailer ended with:
“Sea it”
Eh…I didn’t think "the winds of change"was really a joke, as much as just filler dialogue for Randall.
Randall probably just has a weird sense of humour no one else gets.
Anyway, agreeing with the whole “left two lug-nuts” gag; that’s a lot of innuendo for a Pixar movie. I like Cars, but it could do without the crude humour…
Uh, let’s see. Lightning’s dream sequence does kinda make me cringe, but like TDIT observed, it’s mostly meant to show off Lightning’s narcissism. The one that shows up later with everyone turning into cow-cars is pretty weird… especially how it has the same music…
Im suprised no one pointed this out.
Not so much bad as it is adult, but in Ratat…Ratatool…the Rat Chef movie where Linguini was trying to explain to Coolette about Remmy in the ally.
He says, “I have a little…a tiny…”
Collette quickly looks downward, as if to “examine” if he was right.
That definetally was a subtle joke, but I don’t know if I’d classify that as a bad one. I laughed.
I find it funny, though it is perhaps a tad “adult” for Pixar
It is indeed funny.
I did’nt catch it till later viewings, however. But yes, I did find it pretty adult for pixar.
Cant think of any bad/worst jokes at the moment.
