One of my campers hates Pixar. He told me that Pixar sucks and all their movies are terrible.
I told him he wasn’t allowed to be my camper anymore.
I, personally, love Pixar’s sense of humour and
sheer level of geekiness. It’s about as close to “good clean fun” as is on the market these days
thats still appealing to adults. So after I told him he wasn’t allowed to be my camper anymore, I told him he
just didn’t appreciate the writing and quality of the graphics. Someday he will see the light.
If it’s anything like dancing in a fountain … I believe you can get arrested
for that, lol. Some of them just don’t like cartoons in general. Like my sister- she pretends she never even
watched them as a kid. O_o
I
think there are an awful lot of people who are stuck in the mindframe that animation is just for kids, and so
they’re surprised to see teens and adults singing the praises of an animation company. The thing that separates
Pixar from most studios is that you can watch it and not feel like it’s a kid’s film with a few jokes thrown in
to keep the adults amused. Pixar tend to make films that everyone can enjoy on every level, and you get the
impression that the whole team behind it just really enjoyed doing it themselves, too.
When you make a film in building that’s meant for scooters and paper airplane contests and
has a Love Lounge . . . I’d say they had fun too!
Ahaha and ugly contests, too
I think that
since the Pixar films are multilayered there’s a lot in there for everyone and frankly, there’s nothing wrong
with enjoying something that’s well written and funny. Pixar movies (along with Tim Burton films for example)
don’t condescend kids and are therefore more accessible to anyone who’s inclined to be entertained
A
lot of people don’t see animation as a legitamite film-making method.
I forgot about the Ugly contests!! (Who comes up with all
this??)
Now, my brother, who likes PIXAR films, has said that he thinks all PIXAR guys are nuts because
THAT is how they work. All I can say is “EXACTLY!!! NOW YOU GET IT!!” And he gets scared . . .
.
From my experience at Pixar, the guys work hard, but they have fun
doing it. They make a lot of jokes and a lot of wierd suggestions they pitch to the film, but it’s part of
working there. It’s all fun and games at Pixar. True they have to work hard, but that’s whats cool about
Pixar
Exactly why I’m working for them in the near future- I
thought I was nuts until I watched the documentary and I screamed, “Those are my peoples!!” Lol.

As for animation being for kids, it should be suitable for kids. Unlike South Park, which attracts
kids since they think ‘cartoon for me!’ when it’s really bad. No offense to the user who has the South Park
avatar- I like South Park but because it’s a cartoon it can attract the wrong crowd- children. A lot of the
stuff on there, they won’t understand, but it can get sick. =P
What I like about
Pixar is that their animations and movies aren’t just aimed at little kids. They are for people of all ages. In
a sense, we are all kids.
"Your dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up,
anyway." (quote from Walt Disney himself)
Also, I would love to work at Pixar. I can’t wait for next
summer. It is supposed to be hard, but fun for all.
Are you the one who’s uncle works
for Pixar, supposedly? I’d rather get in on talent rather than ‘knowing someone’. But that’s just me. I want
to work my butt off until I’m worthy ^^ lol
Yeah, I’ll always be a kid at heart. Anyone with a soul must
have some amount of childishness in them. Life’s not worth living unless you goof off and stuff.
Get in
touch with your inner child! lol, as they say … People spend their life growing up and find themselves wanting
to go backwards.
I’ve always said I’m
someone with a twelve-year old heart. PIXAR films will always be my spiel!!
Wasn’t it DashParr23 (number might be wrong) who
had the uncle at Pixar?
~~=oP
That would be me and TSS. Our uncle works
at Pixar. He’s incredibly awesome.
You’re incredibly lucky!!!
I know people who haven’t really heard of
Pixar, or who think that all Pixar films are actually made by Disney, but I don’t know anyone who hates them
because the people I know don’t actually care about movie studios and that kind of thing, unfortunately.
Adore Pixar. However,
I’m not a big Disney fan.
Love Disneyland (having grown up in So Cal).
Love DCA (due to the
Pixar-heavy attractions).
I go to Disney Stores just to shop for Pixar stuff. All that princess stuff
is soo annoying. Then again, that could be because I have sons, not daughters.
And I’ve never seen any
other studio’s CG films…but they all seem to reek of potty humor to me. Pixar’s movies have heart.
Disney was once very good,
but now has got to the point where all they care about is money. That’s why Pixar really is amazing- they’re
not doing it entirely for the money, but for making people enjoy a good film; the money’s just a bonus for
them.
I
think you all can agree with me when I say Disney Animation would be lost without Pixar.
Well, I know a guy who hates ALL
animation, except for Shrek, which he rates as ‘meh’. Statistically speaking, there’s bound to be someone that
doesn’t like Pixar.
Mind you, apart from him, I don’t know anyone who hates on Pixar.
