You know what really grinds my gears?

My mom and I had replaced our outdated modem last winter, yet lately I’ve been getting more and more frustrated–and always to the point where I have to yell at the screen over and over again–on account of those continuing browser glitches over on the desktop!

If there’s one thing about my current job that’s really grinding my gears and making me mad and getting me angry right now, it’s that one guy who constantly walks around and repeats himself so much he won’t even shut his mouth! (Yeah, he’s so annoying…)

^ I have one of those guys at work too. He talks such trash and thinks he knows it all, when really no one actually cares :-\

Speaking of work, I hate it when you’ve made all that effort to apply for jobs and attend interviews, only for the potential employers to not have the decency to email you back if you haven’t been successful and they just leave you hanging. Like I know if it’s been a while that chances are I haven’t got the job or I’m not suitable for the position, but they could have let me known anyways :x Not that this has happened to me lately, but it has in the past.

I know how that feels. I’ve been trying to apply for a job for four (!) years and usually it’s straight up rejection or an invitation to either a test or a job interview (or both) and then rejection. But if it’s neither of those, it’s no answer at all. I don’t even know what I’m supposed to do anymore…

Aww Witch_of_Night, that’s some perseverance you’ve got there to keep going for 4 years! The way I see it, is that’s it’s down to luck. You probably nailed those interviews but got beaten by someone equally talented as you, which is unfortunately the harsh reality of it. I’ve been severely unfortunate in the past whether it be for job opportunities or for my driving tests, and the only way to get through it is to believe in yourself and to just keep going.

But yeah, 4 years is a very long time to keep that up. I hope you get to where you want to be soon. What is it that you would like to do as a career? Do you know anyone who has connections to a job you’d like to do? Sometimes it’s not what you know, but who

Thanks, I hope so too…
Well, my parents adviced me to get an office job, so that’s what I’ve been applying for. But I’m more partial to something creative, like graphic design (tried applying there too). Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone with connections to these kinds of jobs
But early this year, my brother told me that the supermarket chain he works at is looking for new employees in the office field. Of course, I applied… never got an answer.

The only thing is with graphic design is that you usually need to have a degree, and in a lot of cases (as I’ve found out) at least 2 years work experience in that field too. It’s not an easy industry to get into.

Speaking of experience, it really frustrates me when a vacancy for an entry level/ graduate designer states in the job description that you need to have at least 2 years work experience in the industry despite the fact that you’ve spent the last 3 or 4 years in a classroom learning the skills required to do that job and therefore have had no time to hold down a 2 year, full time position. The whole point of a “graduate job” is for a recently graduated university student, no? Arrrgghhhh

It’s a little different in Germany; it’s kinda like this: you apply for jobs in your final school year (usually around February), graduate and learn the job (if you have gotten one) with hands on approach and going to school . like three weeks of school and three weeks at the job. After three years (or more or less), you have finished your apprenticeship; if you’re lucky, the company you learned at will keep you as a fullfledged employee.
University is not necessarily required, except for certain jobs like a doctor.

But what’s really frustrating for me is that radio hosts announce at times that thousands of employers in the state I live in are still looking for apprentices but never say where and when I look in the Interent, the majority is in the gastronomy area. If there’s one area I do not want to work at, it’s gastronomy. One reason is that my mother once worked in this area when I was very small and she had hardly any life outside of work; another reason is that’s almost like slavery.
So, yeah, I try to apply for jobs in other states but only rejections. I’m guessing it’s because I would have to move but, honestly, everyone has to move for one reason or another and I don’t think it’s that bad when you’re single as opposed to being married and having children.

sigh Honestly, the state I live in, especially the region, has got to be one of the worst places to live in and find a job. There’s hardly anything. One time, I looked in an employment website for jobs in the area around my hometown. The result: zero. What good is it to live in an area where other people travel to to go on vacation if you have no future?

Another thing that’s really grinding my gears right now is the fact that lately every time I play my EmojiBlitz game on the iPad 2 device the app keeps crashing on me after every so many rounds. Just as the Magic Kingdoms game I also play starts out fine but then slows down on me and then goes unresponsive after so many taps. And, whenever I do my searches on eBay lately the webpage also continuously crashes on me constantly.
