You know what really grinds my gears?

What really grinds my gears? Traffic in downtown LA. 'Nuff Said

pixarfan9099, mopar5, Snipe, and Evil_Genius…Guys! You almost made me cry again. Your words made me feel a million times better  Thanks X1000. I didn’t know I had such an impact on here! I promise to not moan again
Now lets put all this behind us

Agreed. Oh yeah, and I like your new sig message! (or whatever you would call it… the words in your sig?) :unamused:

Haha, thanks Snipe! I’m proud of wearing the OP (Originating Pixarteer) badge :sunglasses:
Rayhawk also has it in his sig, and I should recommend it to Jessie!

I can’t stand when you’re riding your bike and the cross signal says “walk”, you’re really exhausted and you feel like if you stop you’ll never start again, and then you can’t cross because there’s a vehicle trying to turn and they’re completely blocking the crosswalk. That seriously gets on my nerves sometimes. I suppose, though, maybe they’re just in a big hurry… I’ll just have to make sure I don’t do it when I start driving. :unamused:

I was watching a touching video based on a true story, when this guy who keeps being nosy about what I’m doing and criticizing it all the time, takes a glimpse and asks me why I’m “listening to an emo girl sing”. First of all, I want this jerk to leave me alone. Second, I hate when people jump to conclusions like that. Labelling such touching things “emo” just goes to show there’s no heart.

I really hate it when someone says something to get your hopes up and then they dont follow through. I cant tell you how many times my dad has told me he would take me to a movie, and then the next day, nothing. Thats just one example, but I mean not following through in general.

Oh, yeah, EvilGenius, I know exactly how you feel. I can’t stand when people do that, either. :frowning: My parents have always done their best not to do it to us, but sometimes other people still do it, and other times it’s unavoidable.

Evil_Genius_27: I feel like that’s been happening to me a lot lately, so lame!

I have a big problem with people who brag. I’m not talking about someone who is proud of an accomplishment, or a possession. I’m talking about people who all they ever talk about is how great the are at something. And then they rub it in your face.

I hate it when people drop bombshells on you, like right at the last minute. It blows all plans out of proportion.

This happened to me lately in RL- last night, my parents said we are going away for a week on Saturday. They told us at the last minute because they didn’t want us kids getting too over-excited.

That was a bad idea, though. Why? Because I had wanted to see TS3 next week with my friend as she was on holiday this week and couldn’t go. Now it’s been pushed back even later
Also, next week, I was planning on e-mailing this guy about going to his workplace to get an apprenticeship (looks good on your CV), but now I can’t do that til the week after as there’s no computer or Wi-Fi access on holiday.

Thanks for ruining my plans, Dad and Stepmum. Next time, tell me a few weeks before so I can sort out my plans in advance.

Oh, my parents are so gear-grinding! :imp:

I hate it when, let’s just say someone I know, has too much pride and impatience to listen to another point of view, calling EVERYTHING the other person rants about “nonsense” and he gets to rant about every single thing and order people around like they’re lower than him. :imp:

I really don’t like when I am all alone on my birthday. I will be alone this year because my sisters live out of state. My folks are out of town. The rest of my family live in other places that are not nearby here. I’m single and have no kids. I don’t have close friends. i have neighbors and fellow church members. I have two cats here though.

^ oh so so so sorry to here that… :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: hope you have as much fun as you can…

Sorry to hear that, BarbieandKenfan. Is there no way that you can visit your sisters? Hopefully you can celebrate when your parents get back. Still it’s not the best situation to be in, so I feel for you.

Hmmm things that annoy me,

When teenagers claim to like Scarface (1982), Goodfellas, Fight Club etc etc to sound cool infront of their mates.
I find the phone ringing (home phone) annoying)
Annnddd ermmm when people take credit for things i or other people say and act like they said/thought up of it first.

No, there is no way that i can visit my sisters. Two of my sisters live in San Diego. We usually drive to San Diego now. I don’t know how to drive and am not able to drive either. My other sister live in Alaska.

i have some presents that will open on my birthday. I have dinner and cake with my folks when they get back. My folks and I saw Toy Story 3 yesterday. I wanted to see it again on my birthday. I saw it for my birthday.

BarbieandKenfan- Ah, well I’m glad to hear that you’ll celebrate your birthday when your parenst get back. And seeing Toy Story 3 is one good birthday present!

I’m glad that you got to actually celebrate your birthday, evan if a bit early. I’ll be sure to wish you a Happy Birthday when that day comes around!

What grinds my gears is the fact that the rules of posting here at PixarPlanet are clearly stated, posted in a place that’s easy to find, and yet it seems that some people disregard them completely.

EXCESSIVE CAPS, for instance. I see that happening more frequently with certain members. It is considered shouting - don’t do it.

Excessive smileys and exclamation points/question marks.

Or quoting the person directly above you, for no reason.

There are also rules about swearing and otherwise harsh language around here.

I’m sorry if I’m making this my issue, but really, it’s not so hard to take a flip through The Rules of Pixar Planet and figure out what’s acceptable and what’s not.

Granted, a good majority follow the rules well, but there are still a few that I’m convinced haven’t read them at all.

So yeah. Little rant is over. I apologize for making such a big deal out of this, but it really, really bothers me.

little chef

I understand what you mean little_chef, especially about the quoting. I hope my quoting isn’t rule breaking, I’m pretty sure it’s not! But anyway, yeah. I agrees with ya.
