You know what really grinds my gears?

I find that it is often that since many people with aspergers have trouble picking up social cues or interacting easily with people in real life, they find it much easier to discuss it on the internet. I for one like rambling and rambling about history, and though this does not have much use to a high school classmate, on an alternate history site I find many others who ramble on end about history 8D

Well, that actually makes more sense.

The fact remains that I haven’t met a single person with Aspergers in real life and there are like ten here. Maybe, as you said, that’s common in all forums, but this is the only one I’ve ever been into.

This sudden tension between the PP members is starting to grind my gears.

I completely agree with you.

I know! I mean, when you say you like everyone EXCEPT this one person you don’t mention, it causes paranoia for everyone else and they get all anxious and think that they’re the ones who aren’t liked around here, and when you do specifically list that person, it causes some chaos for a very friendly community! I should say that you just leave that kind of indignant commenting to yourself!

Exactly. Besides, things sound ruder than they are when written. so one must be careful.

seco- uh, thirded, i guess, hahaa.

Well,I’m sorry if I grind people’s gears, but I mean if I don’t like you I’m not going to go around you being all “OMGish!!”,I know I annoy somepeople on here (I know who you are) but I’m not going to stop speaking my mind cause I have a right to. Like I said the tension only comes when you come at me the wrong way…

And just a frendly reminder when you make comments refering to what member’s are doing you are yourself making it worse,so it’s best to have your say and leave it at that…

^ Can’t agree with this. That always creates an hostile environment here.

So, if you wanna speak your mind because you feel extremely attacked by another member, write to a moderator (if there’s one you still like) and they will help you with the situation.

You’re not a jerk, hon…we all have our little issues. I have a short temper, am very flirty online with people…girls and guys included… 8D …and I tend to ramble on about nothing…

All I can say is that you have the right to say what you want, nobody here has edited your posts or anything. What we are merely doing is offering replies or responses to your comments, and you can either reply back, or simply ignore them. Nobody’s saying you can’t write what you write (unless it gets personally abusive). Nobody’s changing the contents of your post.

If anyone is personally attacking you instead of your opinion, please inform a Mod you can trust, and we will take immediate action. If anyone is attacking your opinion, you can either:

a) Post a polite rebuttal. This means no sarcasm and being respectful towards the other person’s feelings.
b) Ignore the post.

I know you are capable of courtesy and politeness, xCarsLuverx, and I think some people might take your defensiveness of Cars the wrong way. But sometimes you gotta pick your fights and just let other people voice their opinion, even if you don’t agree with them all the time.

I have tons of my favourite movies which get stepped on, but what I do is simply poke holes in my opponent’s arguments. And if they start posting weak arguments (“OMG how could you not see how awesome this movie is? I think you’re just trying to say negative stuff about it” or “You’re just being defensive, it is so obvious that this film sucks”), I simply let them ‘win’.

Because deep down, I know no one can change my beliefs without my permission.

No one can for me either-I personally hate it when people try to.

You heard Spirit. - TDIT

Try not not quote the entire post but just the part you want to comment. That makes boards shorter and easier to read

  Sorry…it’s a strange habit.

Agreed. It doesn’t make me mad but I try to avoid it at all costs.

SoA: Well, one of the key components of Asperger’s Syndrome is obsessing over a specific thing. And Pixar is very appealing, so maybe that’s why there are lots of us freaks here! 8D

Methuselah: Thanks for the words. Actually, you just helped me a lot.

bitsandpieces: Aw, you’re so nice to me! 8D And I <3 <3 <3 that Rapunzel gif. Thank you. So much.

K9girl: Hug Thanks, you’re nice too!

Well, I can’t blame you. I also obsess over it.

My dad doesn’t approve of my lifelong dream and wants me to consider another goal. Problem is, I have many backup options should my plan fails. I just want him to see that.

I’m sorry to hear that. It must be hard :frowning:

I’ve never seen Avenue Q, but I have heard the songs online. They’re hilarious! You’d also be interested in the Book of Mormon, which is a collaboration between the creators of South Park a writer of Avenue Q.

And I defintely agree with everything you say. That’s one reason I love the USA. (and the same applies for Canada, Brazil, and Australia). And that’s the vast amount of multiculturism. Many people are afraid of multiculturism, but they need to realize that in our age of communication, that it’s also an age of people from all over the world sharing ideas.

And when I went to New Orleans with a group of other people on a Misson Trip, they all ate food we were use to. Such as saladas and hamburgers and the like. I was like, dude, this is the BEST place in the world for Cajun fod, be adventurous with it!

Haha, I like how you mentioned Jersey Shore, Hotdogs, Apple Pie, and speaking English. I’m American, and I only partake in 2 of those activities (eating Hot Dogs and speaking English).
