Well, most people wanna age to certain point, then stop.
Yeah, I guess so. But I miss when I didn’t have to worry about being responsible about anything important.
Innocence fades.
I apologize for bringing this up again, but I want to stress on this point Spirit made. In the last week, the mods have dealt with a lot of stress from problems with several members. We’ve been trying very hard to keep the boards a safe place to share opinions without fear from harrassment, as well as keeping the boards clutter free from meaningless posts, spam, and misuse of quoting.
This is just a good place to bring up to everyone that if there are in the future any issues, immeditely contact a moderator. Also co-operate with the moderators. It makes our jobs easier, and we’re here to help you as well as everyone else, and want you to continue posting. We have a life outside of Pixar Planet, but we mods dedicate a lot of time for you guys. I don’t want to sound bossy, but I’m just asking for everyone’s help to bring Pixar Planet back to the stress free and friendly environment we’re all use to. Thank you!
x3haijessiex3: Finals and regent exams? Tough! New York seems on top of it. My youth group has done trips from California to Louisiana to Teas to Mexico, and never have to get tests done. But the State of New York requires a Tuberculousis test to work with seniors and youth! This grinds my gears a bit, because i hate having a needle inject foreign substences into my body. But it’s worth it so I can help those in need!
Yeah we’re pretty strict about who comes and goes here. We’re really strict about testing as well. It’s ironic because the teachers here are horrid.
Really? How are they horrid? Yeah, I hope I didn’t sounded whiny, but I’d take 10 TB tests to go to New York City!
The fact that I’m actually laughing at Suite Life on Deck’s finale when I actually hated that show.
We have those too. Although, they’re called TAKS [Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills] testing (and it’s being renamed to STAAR [State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness] next year). Grades 3-11 have to take them. And then we have EOC’s [End of Course Exams] as well as finals.
But sadly, Texas isn’t really known for it’s “high testing scores” so the addition of tests is really unnecessary. It just restricts more on what teachers can teach and makes everyone more high strung and stressed.
Actually, the education system in America doesn’t make me too happy either, too much going on between each state and not enough people who care to actually do a reform. I think I would actually go for a career in teaching if it weren’t for all the flaws in the system. Granted, I don’t know what to do to make a perfect system, but I know what we’re doing isn’t working.
Uh… Got carried away there, didn’t I? /rant
What grinds a Badger’s gears
Episode ?
Part 1
People who ask a drawing request and keep badgering you about it. Badger, badger, badger. MUSHROOM, MUSHROOM! Nevermind the fact that you may be busy with school and other stuff!..(or just not having any motivation to draw) And then when you finish it, they don’t even say THANK YOU and instead find it fun to nitpick!
That’s the last time I’m drawing crud for anyone, ever!
Well… except that I still have some requests lying around… should finish them first and THEN rage, shouldn’t I?
Uhhhhhhh…yeah.
jessie: Oh tough! That stinks! Luckily we only have final exams here. I don’t think I could handle that!
I think of it this way…
Pain = Beauty
Beauty = Happiness
So does that mean Happiness = Pain, because our society seems to believe that beauty does equal happiness. I guess we’re all just dying to be in pain these days. If you follow me…I’m not trying to be depressing, I’m just pointing out a sad part of reality.
Another pet peeve of mine: When people don’t use punctuation, particularly question marks while texting you. I don’t mind if you don’t bother using commas, or if you don’t use periods that’s fine, just makes it a run-on sentence. And maybe you don’t like using exclamation points (I happen to love to) that’s still alright with me. BUT, when you type a question use a question mark!!! That’s why it is called a question mark!!! Hahaha, maybe I’m crazy but that just drives me insane for some reason.
When people don’t bother to use grammar when texting. If you have a phone with teeny-tiny little buttons and you’re forced to do that because of the buttons, fine with me, I can handle that, but when your phone has perfectly normal-sized buttons and you’re just doing it to look “cool”, I hate it. It doesn’t make you sound cool, it makes you sound like you flunked first-grade.
LOL, I don’t mind that until I certain degree. I do it myself but more out of laziness than trying to be cool. It also bothers me when people never use smilies or emotes while texting. It doesn’t bother me online but over text I tend to prefer it.
I can make an exception for laziness…
Hahaha OK! I know what you mean though, when people try to make a short form out of everything or just use slang because other people do it too.
-hugs you- You’re sweet, you know that?
-hugs back- Awww shucks! You are too! I believe you are the member to give me the most virtual hugs ever. Brownie points for you.
no matter what kind of device i used to send my messages out, i’m always determined to get the correct punctuation and grammar!
When parents take away your stuff, that grinds my gears. -.-
that grinds my friend’s gears too.
It’s SO annoying. -.-
