Great Choice PixarFan91.
Thanks, starting to run out of room on my bookshelf.
I already have^^.
Once I get a job and make money it woll run out of room quicker. But I also have to use that money on gas and stuff.
I still have room for individual DVDs on my shelf, but if I get another box set, I don’t know what to do! I’m going to ask for the Charlie Chaplin Collection Vol 2 for my birthday. And the next DVD I plan to buy for myself is Casablanca.
Those are great choices ^^.
I don’t know why, but I like box sets more then reguler cases. I guess I like the box art.
Thanks! Yeah, I hope I can get them soon.
Me too. I collect the Disney collector’s gift set DVDs and the Best Buy exclusive steelbooks. Steelbooks have sleek, metal covers and often more elegant designs than the regular covers. They look like this.
I also like the covers for collector’s edition DVDs Disney released in the early 2000s, like Tarzan, Dinosaur, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and The Emperor’s New Groove. Here’s one example and another. They’re classy, simple, and capture the spirit of the respective films. I loathe cheesy collages of villains and sidekicks. People should know what a movie is by seeing certain imagery or an icon associated with the film, such as Rafiki’s drawing of Simba in TLK.
This is, by far, my most prized DVD (technically a blu-ray):
My wish list for collector DVDs and blu-rays are:
- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs blu-ray steelbook
- The Lion King collector’s gift set (from the original DVD release)
- The Lion King blu-ray steelbook
- Toy Story 1 & 2 blu-ray steelbooks
Cool. The only problem with box sets is that they take up more room.
I just bought The Illusionist, Watership Down and The Secret of Kells.
I have seen clips of Watership Down on Youtube. That’s a kids movie?
We had to watch that in Junior school, no joke. Animation Age Ghetto at it’s most outlandish imo.
Nonetheless, a very good movie, makes me cry everytime. Took me ages to find though
We watched some violent movies in school. Of course we needed a parent’s permission. Even if it was G rated we needed it, even in high school.
I don’t we ever needed permission, even though some of the films we watched were 18-rated in secondary school.
I still need to see The Illusionist.
Oh it’s a great little film! I love Chomet’s work; The Triplets of Belleville is one of the most watched DVD’s I own.
I definitely will have to see it.
Same here. The film looks really good.
Have any of you guys posted pictures of you’re collection yet. I know Eve did.
