I would like to know your guys family and how many siblings you have, children you have, wierd things about your families, or any other items that are rather bizzare.
My family is really large. We have 7 children (including me) ranging from 17 to 2 years of age. We only have 1 girl.
There’s me, my mum, and my cat. My dad too, sort of. The end. I’ve got no siblings, my mum’s got no siblings. My grandparents on my mother’s side are dead, but I do have a grandmother on my dad’s side who I see every now and then.
The problem is, my dad’s family all live in Malta, and my mum doesn’t have any family, meaning that the only two people I have close contact with in my family are my parents (and my cat- she counts too. )
Al-Bob- Wow, so you have six siblings then? Must be a very hectic household!
I have seven aunts and about three to four uncles (counting the spouses my aunts married to). Yeah, Singaporeans back then. Their hobby, apparently, is reproducing.
I am the only child of my family. My blood-parents were never divorced. My mum is an annoying, paranoid but patient, non-violent Christian and my dad is… well, everything my mother isn’t - violent, impatient, vulgar and non-Christian. He believes in the way of ‘feng shuai.’ Heh…
My dad’s mother is the only grandparent I have, and she’s already not doing so well. She suffered from diabetes and had to cut off her pinky toe because of it. She partially dyed her hair and even had it curled… typical groovy grandma, I guess.
My mum’s a homemaker, my dad’s a martial arts instructor or ‘master,’ as he likes to label himself as… Master Simon Tang, even. Heck, his real name’s not even “Simon.” He claimed that he once faced a group of men wielding machine guns at him before. That has yet to be proven to me, but I have my belief somewhere there.
I’ll probably talk more about my… interesting, family later on.
Edit: Holy molly, you and I share so many similarities, lizardgirl.
WBoon- We do! I have to say, I have a lot of…great aunts and uncles, I guess? My grandmother who’s still alive has (or rather, had) seven siblings because the Maltese, just like Singaporeans back then, seemed to love reproducing!
Even down to the fact that your mum is paranoid and that sort of thing, and that your father is more aggressive. Ditto all of that! But in my case, my parents are both chefs, my dad working more than my mum. And they did sort of split up…It’s difficult to explain coherently.
Sounds like you’re my male, Singaporean counterpart.
Oh, I’m sorry to hear that… My parents’ relationship with each other ain’t that fab, either, they argue with each other a lot from time to time. But good to hear that your parents are chefs. My dad is actually a master chef back then before he quit to become the instructor he is today. His meals are good, it’s just that I am picky.
Al-Bob - I have no idea as to why anyone would want to reveal such personal information, but there may be some young folks out there who may let slip something private.
Like I previously stated, I don’t think that any of you guys would do such a thing. I’m just making sure. Better safe than sorry.
I have 1 brother, he has a name that, if you’re American, you can’t say it correctly, everybody called him Frenchie, even teachers !
He’s called Loic … Try it !
I live with my mom and my sister [she’s 10], and our two dogs. I have a step sister who is 7 and a step brother who is 4. They live with my dad and their mom and their dog.
Well, I live with my parents in a house in Germany and I have three older brothers. They don’t live with us anymore but they often come to visit. The oldest and most annoying one is 31, the other two (one skinny, the other fat) are 29. Yeah, really old. Well, I was an accident. I also have one grandfather on my mother’s side and a grandmother on my father’s side. My other grandmother died when I was a year old and I never met my other grandfather. I also have some aunts, uncles and cousins. But I haven’t seen them for so long. So I don’t know how they look like and I don’t even know their names!
I can’t say much about my relationship with my parents. Sometimes I get along with them well and sometimes not. But they don’t seem to like each other very much. They often argue (which drives me crazy) and only say bad things about the other.
My relationship with my brothers are like that:
Oldest: very bad (I almost got a heart attack once because of him)
Skinny twin: good
Fatty twin: between good and bad
My family consists of a mother, a father, two brothers, a dog, a cat, and myself. I’m the big sister. The only people other than my core family that I am close to are my grandmother on my mom’s side and a cousin on my dad’s side. I am very grateful that my dad’s mother lives 2000 miles away. One of my brothers is almost completely deaf. We taught him how to talk instead of signing and now he never shuts up. He’s also the smartest kid I’ve ever met. My parents are both doctors. My dog is my baby. Ever since I can remember, I wished for a puppy when I blew out birthday candles or saw shooting stars or any of that, and I got my baby Sasha the day before my sixteenth birthday. My cat showed up on my doorstep almost nine years ago. I gave her food, and she decided my family was worth adopting, even if she does live outside because my dad is allergic.
