Your Family

Virginia: Don’t be sorry! I hate my mum AND stepdad. I’m glad I don’t see them anymore, because my life seems great without them.

Evil_Genius: Even though I hate my mum and stepdad, if they did treat me like proper parents should, then I’d wish all 4 of my parents would get along like yours!

ellie-jessie-eve: Wow, you’re so lucky to have parents AND siblings who love Pixar. Unlike mine, because they tease me real badly about my obesession.
And, out of interest, has your Pa heard of the Lasseter winery? You do live in the same town as him and your dad works in the wine industry, after all. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I wish! No, he’s at another winery. There’s around 40 winerys in in the valley, that’s why we call it the wine country! However my Pa’s ex-boss/good friend knows John Lasseter, and my Pa met him a few times at his friend’s parties.

Actually my mom has been working at a store for the past 20 years, mostly as a cashier. I noticed that the Pixar jobs section of their webiste they’re hiring a cahier at Cafe Luxo and request someone with “expirience as a casher” I was like mom! Go apply! But she said no :frowning:

Luckily, my only sister is as much of a Pixar fan as I am. It makes me wish I had more siblings. We could have made a club 8D

Yes! You have taught him well! I’m still trying to convert my little sister to the way of Pixar…Mwahahahaha :smiling_imp: It is too late, sadly, to convert my parents…they are too far gone…alas!

Ami, I’m sorry you don’t have a good relationship with your mom. But like IncredigirlVirginia said, your family sounds pretty cool! You have 4 step-siblings, 1 full sibling, and a half-sibling. That’s a big family. I don’t have any step-siblings, but I wish I did, especially ones close to my age. My half sister is 9 years younger than me.

OMG I wish I knew your dad!:frowning: What does he think of John?
I’m surprised you haven’t met JL yourself yet. And your mum must be bonkers to not take that Cafe Luxo Cashier job. Mind you, I see why she doesn’t, she’s been at her current one for around 20 years!

Spirit Of Adventure: Me and my full sister sometimes blab about Pixar, but it depends if she’s in the mood to. And trust me, you don’t want lots of siblings.

Evil_Genius: My family is so not cool. Like I said to SOA, you don’t want lots of siblings, especially when they tease you about your obsession (Pixar). Even my parents do it. Also, only my full sis understands my love for Pixar, but even she makes fun. Happy Families

Oh, I understand what you mean, Biggest_Pixar_Fan_Ami, but siblings in my family work perfectly. We are more like best friends than anything else. I know that’s not the situation in most of the cases.

Biggest_Pixar_Fan_Ami My dad says that he and John talked about Clint Black (they both went to the same concert it turns out) and that John was very friendly.

I wish I could run into him! But our town is sort of big, and he’s super busy working at Disney and Pixar, he’s not the type of guy to pop into the grocery market to pick something up! Although you dont’ see him, his precense is known
*He use to live in a rich neighborhood called Armstrong Estates before moving to his vineyard across the valley, and it was a popular spot to go and get Halloween candy! (the rich neighborhoods give out full size candy bars!) I never trick or treated there though!
*And at my bank, during Christmas they decorate the place with Christmas Cards customers send to the bank. And there was one from the Lasseter family of course.
*He’s donated $$$$$ to the High School I use to go to’s Film & Media Program/Classes. That’s why there are posters for every Pixar film in the classroom. I never took those classes.
*He bought a steer from our school’s FFA program (which I was the President of last year) once, but doesn’t do it anymore because there was some mixup with the fair. He wanted the coat of the steer for decoration, but the fair doesn’t do that. You only get the meat carcess. So he doesn’t buy anymore.
*My friend went to a daycare called “Sunshine” when she was younger (sounds like Sunnyside don’t it?) Anyway, she attended Sunshine with one of Lasseter’s boys. For show and tell he brought his dad’s Toy Story Oscar
*He’s watched some of the Pixar movies at the local theater. He was there for the premier of TS3, and brought Mr. Ratzenberger with him and they signed autographs. I WAS going to go, but I was in New Orleans during the premier
*My sister’s friend saw TS3 at Pixar because she’s family friends with the Lasseters.

The only time I think I’ve seen him was when I was a little kid, and he drove around. I am 80% sure it was him, because it was a a Volkswagon bug car with Woody painted on the hood. It was most likely him, or an over enthusiastic Toy Story fan. Anyway, I saw that car a lot when I was younger, I don’t know what happened to it.

Evil_Genious27 How old is your sister? There still might be time to convert her!

edit 600th post!

Wow Al-Bob you do have big family! And I thought I had a big family!

I have 3 siblings. Tow sisters and one brother… I can’t think of anything weird about my family… thinks I’m homeschooled, I’ve never been to public school, also my mom makes us (me and my siblings) do school through the summer. Other then that I’m in a pretty boring family.

ellie-jessie-eve, my sister is 9 (sorry, I made a mistake earlier, I said she was 8  ). And yes, there is still time. I’m showing her all the Pixar movies again, but so far, she can’t really distinguish them from Dreamworks films…I must press onward though!

ellie-jessie-eve: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: WOW. I sooooo wish I was you, girl! gets jealous, like, real bad

  1. I don’t know who Clint Black is, but I’m glad he got on well with your dad.
  2. I don’t know what an FFA is either
  3. That’s so cool about the Lasseter family sending a Christmas card to the bank. If that happened in my town, I’d be in there everyday just to read it (and chceck out the handwriting!)
  4. It must be awesome having a sister who’s friends with John’s family. Now I’m really surprised you’ve not met him.
  5. That’s so sweet about one of his boys (which one was it, do you know?) bringing in an Oscar for show and tell. But why would you take something as precious as THAT to a daycare?

Anyways, I so wish we knew each other in real life! I know I didn’t comment on all of your points, but they’re all, like, WHOA!

Man, if I’d ever happen to bump into the legend (or any of his family), I’d faint.
If I survive, I’d tell him he’s the most talented, inspiring, amazing, and creative individual who EVER walked this earth. <3 <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/love2.gif” alt=“:loves:” title="In

Biggest_Pixar_Fan_Ami that would be my exact reaction! And I’m a pretty calm fella.

Yeah I know right! And I’ll ask my friend which of the boys it was. I don’t really know much about them, I don’t think they went to the town’s high school that I went too, I think they went to a private school or another school. I don’t know that for sure though. As to bring an Oscar to show in tell, most kids bring like afrog they found or a ratty old doll. This kid brings an Oscar!

Clint Black is a country singer, and FFA is 'Future Farmers of America" a club for high schoolers who raise livestock and plants and sell them. I’ve had beef and pig projects.

Yeah, my sister’s friend wasn’t even phased about going. She’s not big into Pixar or Toy Story. But she got to go there! And I’m the biggest Pixar fan in town and didn’t get to go! (I don’t have $250 laying around, or connections!) If I met him, I’d tell him that he and Chuck Jones are my heroes!

It’s lame being the biggest Pixar fan in town and never running into him. Hopefuly he’ll be at the Cars 2 premier next year! I’ll be sure not to be out of state on that date! Just in case he does the autograph thing again.

I guess I live in the perfect place for cartoon fans, because another town 25 minutes away is Snoopy USA because Charles Schultz lived there.

So true…I think I’m one of the nutty bits

Don’t worry DNs24voices, no matter how weird your family is, it’s normal.

I have an older half-brother, Shawn, he’s 29 and was born when my mom was 16 and put up for adoption. When he was my age, he found his real mom.
I also have an older sister, Krissy, who is 17. We are almost exactly alike, we look the same, we like the same movies, books, and we both love acting (though I haven’t done it nearly as much as she has).
I live with my sister, dad, my dog, and my cat.
My mom lives 3 and a half hours away & I see her everytime we have a day off school.

And I consider my best friend’s family my 2nd family, so if you count that, then I also have a little sister, age 9. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s so sweet rock-itpop! I also have an older half brother around the same age. I forget if I posted about him on this thread yet, but he’s never lived with us so it’s easy to forget… (I’m a horrible sister!)

My family…hmmm…yeah they’re nuts!  :sunglasses:

Theres me (19)
My big brother Chris (23)
My little brother Tim (16)
My dad Mark (53)
My mom Stephanie (50)
My dat Sari ( 9 or 10)
My dog Dani (4)

We put to pets to sleep cause of old age.
My cat Minnie (18 or 19)

No you aren’t. When people ask me how many brothers and sisters I have, I say 1 on instinct.

My mom is named Stephanie too! Only her name is spelt Stefani
