Anybody rember the qoute “I can’t help it. . . it’s so beautiful. . .” (flash
boom, bang)? That was hilarious. I gues a lesson about not doing drugs can be learned from that.

That was hilarious. I feel sorry
for that bug who got hit with the light. Before that scene, the Pizza Plnet Trck was there
Mr. Soil was one of my faves. Rest In
Peace, Roddy McDowall.
Roddy Mcdowall? Who is he? Does he do the voice of Mr. Soil? What happened to him
He voiced Mr. Soil. I knew him as the March Hare from an old Alice in Wonderland movie. He died of lung cancer
in '98.
Oh wow. That’s sad. I miss the guy. When I watch Bug’s Life I’ll
make sure to think about him and the guy who plays Heimlich
Madeline Kahn (Gypsy) and Jonathan Harris
(Manny) died also. Madeline was a favorite of mine- she played in several Mel Brooks films, like 'Young
Frankenstein’. I only know Jonathan from the old ‘Lost in Space’ series.
I had no idea that the voice actors for Gypsy and Manny
died. I feel sorry for them, and for the other people who contributed
Yeah, I knew about Madeline but it didn’t find out about Jonathan’s death until recently. That hit me hard.
Gypsy and Manny are my favorite characters.
It’s terrible when actors and
actresses who made large contributions to movies pass away- not only because of the loss for their family,
friends and fans, but also because if they ever wanted to make a sequel, nine times out of ten, it just wouldn’t
be the same. I think this definitely applies to A Bug’s Life- they’d have to get perfect matches for Heimlich,
Manny and Gypsy, otherwise it just wouldn’t feel right.
So because they have
passed, does that mean those characters won’t be present in a possible ABL sequel?
Possibly, but as the chances of an ABL sequel are pretty slim, then it’s not a problem that
Pixar has to worry about for the time being.
Well this answers my question from the Toy Story Forum . . . .
Yes, it is a shame. But personally, I
wouldn’t really want a ABL2 movie anyways. It’s can just perfectly stand alone (like MI).
But if they
DID a sequel . . . I wish they had all the original actors.
(Hey, who got the idea that they WERE making a
ABL2 movie when they saw the beginning of the Cars teaser?? I was like, "no . . . I KNOW the next film is
going to be Cars! But why am I seeing a bee, flowers & HEARING that music" – SPLAT!)
I had that idea. But before the car hit the bee, I was thinking about something. First, the
setting in ABL was on Ant Island and the bee was flying in a desert.
My fav line -
"If I hadn’t promised
mother on her death bed that I wouldn’t
kill you…I would kill
you."

QFT, although
I also like “Hey, I said ‘No Salt’!”
I don’t really like the idea of ABL2. It would be like
Eight Simple Rules after John Ritter died. It wouldn’t feel right. Besides, ABL
wraps everything up nicely, so there’s no need to expand on it.
^Yeah, not to mention it seems like Disney/Pixar always like…ignore ABL.
PIXAR doesn’t ignore ABL. For one, Lasseter (like with
every movie) has all the toys! Two, it WAS the first DVD to be transfered DIRECTLY from the Digital
Source!
TS didn’t get that honor!
My personnal favorite quote :
Boy Ant 1 : My dad says he gives you an hour
before you come back to the island crying.
Flik : Oh, does he now?
Boy Ant 2 : My dad doesn’t think that.
Flik :
He doesn’t, uh ?
Boy Ant 2 : No, he’s betting you’re going to die.
Flik : Oh…
<img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif" alt=";-D" title="Grin and
Wink" />
My
favorite moment is actually a lack of quote:
Grasshoppers: [are buried under a pile of grain]
Hopper:
[doesn’t so much as twitch]
If they hadn’t already done so much of it, I think having Hopper crack up
right there would have been an extraordinarily realistic outtake.
Favorite quote, though…
Hmm.
Grasshopper: Oohhhh! Kewl. Haha, I love my job.
I dunno, his voice is just so funny… It
probably isn’t my absolute favorite line, but it is one of the first to come to my mind. "Oh! Let me help
you to finish it!" is also another favorite.
