rachel - Oh yes, I loved those moments you mentioned that are in the film/soundtrack, as well, especially the whole “Wall Rat” bit. The latter (“Wall Rat”) is imbedded with sharp, staccato tones…before merging into a harmonious overture. ‘Tis magnifique, I tell ya’… (snigger)
Yep, exactly. It’s one of the tracks in the 9-minute preview that really stands out, even though it only lasts a few seconds. I kinda hate it when they do that: They conjure up this beautiful piece of music for the audience to engulf…and then it just stops after a few seconds. It’s like their teasing you 'cause you know you wanna hear more or something.
Yeah, it is such a little “ratty” song. Like a rat scurrying around in Paris, but it’s quiet cute.
Really? I was expecting you to at least like this score, since it is by Mr. Giacchino.
Man, I love that part. The music is meant to show that [spoil]everything has finally come together, and things are moving along. It’s a good contrast to the music before that part when Linguini didn’t know what to do.[/spoil]
I also adore the music when [spoil]Colette is in the middle of the street, in traffic, in the rain, looking at the book in the shop window, and she realises that anyone can, indeed, cook.[/spoil] It brings tears to my eyes more than at the end.
