Hog-Hug's Art 2008

Postby Hog-Hug » Tue Apr 15, 2008 10:12 am

I hope it's alright that I'm starting a new thread. I think it's appropriate seeing as it's a new year.

(Here's a link to my 2007 thread:
http://www.pixarplanet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1383&highlight=)

And here are two sketches of Woody and Marlin:

My scanner does them no justice, and they'd be much prettier in color. Ah well, hope you like them!

(They're not very original seeing as I used references:

but I'm trying to get down their basic design before I jump into trying any original stuff. They're hard to draw!)

They both look really good! But Marlin looks amazing! I could never get Buzz to look right the time I tried to do a line drawing of him. That's why I end up shading everything :)

Hog-Hug - Not bad, Hog-Hug! You've got a nice handle on the art of "simplifying" complicated characters by way of successfully transforming their 3D "skin" to a 2D format. Marlin, especially, looks most convincing.

Good job! :D

That line-art's really nice and accurate, Hog-Hug! I have to agree, I think these would look great in colour.
