<3 Lightning and Sally <3

I’ve noticed we keep talking about this couple on topics that aren’t really

taking about their relationship ( Cough That mater one ! Cough ) so i thought it would make more sense if he

have a topic just on them . So , i’m just suggesting we move that whole why’s sally mean to lightning in the

beginning and the lightning totally hitting on sally in the court scene is a little yucky , over here . It makes

more sense , and we dont go off topic as much .

Is it just me , or am I startinng to sound like PV ? not

that that’s a bad thing PV ! :astonished:

Okay , so as a respond to what stickers said about the macho thing ,

I’ve never been attracted to those kind of guys . I go for the funny type , not macho , so that doesn’t really

make that much sense to me .

Well I was a little cofuesed at first,I was like ok

arn’t ya’ll supposed to fall in love,but you know what they say love takes time :unamused: .But I think it was a

little case of tough love.But then agian she was annoyed by that additude of his :unamused: ,but now she totally

loves him.I wonder if he’ll die for her if he has to? :slight_smile:

Yeah , I was waiting for sparks , like halfway through the movie . You think

something’s gonna happen , and then it doesn’t . Then you think it does again , and it doesn’t . Then you know

they’re in love and the sparks start , but then it gets all sad . And then u see the sparks once again start ,

but mater ruins it with that helicopter . If i was lightning and/or sally , i would’ve just kissed anyway .

posting “off-topic” in the mater thread… my fault, dr. green.

regarding the sparks - for me,

they first started to fly when sally asked him out for a ride. the way they teased each other (the puddles, the

mud, the leaves) was very heart-warming and intimate. and this kind of behavior is so incredibly human!
and

when sally reached the waterfall, she flirted heavily… did she have a reason for that? YES, she did! whoa, if i

were a car, at this moment i?d be REAL REAL GONE!

and then, when she tells him (at the wheel well motel)

that she had fallen in love - he is so disappointed…! poor chap, he really must have felt miserable in that

very moment.

there is a lot of hints (that “something” is going on between them) hidden in the

movie. they?re only small, intimate moments, but they do exist. as i said before, moments full of

“sparks”. or call it “butterflies” (as we germans do). like in these both scenes.

Do yall notice that she`s always around him?And she follows him nearly

everywhere he goes?Thats the clue I got that they were dateing possibly. :slight_smile:

wasn’t “dr. green” one of the ER characters? i didn’t

watch it, just picked up that one of their characters always apologized. it was some sort of "running

gag" amongst my friends…

I would watch ER but it comes on past my bedtime . This is what happens with parents more protective than

your friends , they make u go to bed at 9 . :laughing:

well… i’m still not sure about sally’s motives to LIKE lightning. she has very few reasons

to do so, at least at the beginning of the movie (i’m talking about the courtroom scene).

so what do you

think - why does she give him a chance to stay with her at her motel? (i mean, with her, not WITH HER…)
and

why does she invite him for a drive?

sorry, i just don’t understand her :smiley: he’s been rude to her and

all the townsfolk (at least in the beginning), and she rewards him with kindness… (or is this a typical female

thing?)…

She siad why she gave him a room in the motel in the movie . It was because he did a good job

on a part of the road and she appreciated him trying to make the road look nice ( after the first time anyway :wink:

)

I think she invited him for a drive because she had those little small feelings for him in the beginning

of the movie . You sould also tell she liked him a bit in the beginning because she swore after she embarrased

herself by knocking down some cones when Lightning noticed her pinstripe tattoo .

well, here’s what i think:

First, Sally thought Lightning would be a jerk and

wouldn’t change that way. Lightning just started to like her since she was a hot Porsche, then he started to

dislike her since she made him fix the road. When Lightning finished the road, Sally knew he didn’t care about

the road and got even MORE mad at him. But when he redid the road, it looked as good as new and then thought,

“Hmm, maybe there IS some good in him…” Then she decided to thank him for the hard work he did and

insisted that he should stay at one of her motels for a while. That made Lightning appreciate her. So then at

night, when Lightning was entering the cone, they started to talk a little bit about what Mater was teasing him

about. That made Lightning a little nervous if Sally knew he was sort of crushing on her. And when Lightning said

goodnight (In the way Sally didn’t like it) Sally thought he didn’t appreciate the cone. But Lightning quickly

recovered what he said and thanked her. That made Sally start to trust him. So in the morning, she helped him get

fueled up and ready for a nice drive. At the drive, Lightning and Sally was getting a little closer. When Sally

took him to the Wheel Well to see the beautiful view, that amazed him. When Sally explained to Lightning what

happened to Route 66. That was exactly when Lightning had changed. You know, his personality. So the two drove

back down to town and Lightning thanked Sally. While she was driving back to the Cozy Cone, Lightning made a

dreamy expression on his face watching her which obviously means that Lightning was feeling even more closer to

her. But after that little fight with Doc, Lightning was thinking a little bit. The next day, everyone thought

that Lightning finished the road and then left town. That made Sally sad. Then she went back to the Cozy Cone

with that emotion. But when the town’s folk found out Lightning didn’t leave, he asked if he can buy some new

tires at Luigi’s. While he was there, Sally noticed him there and was surprised. Lightning saw her and winked at

her which made her ALSO have a dreamy expression on her face. A while later, Lightning got a whole new paintjob

and new whitewall tires. He surprised Sally with it and amazed. She was even more amazed when Lightning showed

her that he helped the other cars fix the neon lights. Sally thanked Lightning. They affectionately snuggled each

other and they were about to cruise. Until the press and Mack found Lightning and wanted to take him away to the

race. When Sally made her way to shortly talk to him, which was very painful. They felt very close and now

Lightning had to go. That made them have tears in their eyes.
Two days later, Lightning came back surprising

Sally with his Radiator Springs look. They started to talk about Lightning staying at town and stuff. Lightning

then affectionately said “You know I really missed you Sally.” They were getting closer to kiss until

Mater interrupted them.

So in conclusion, my opinion on Lightning & Sally is that they kept on having

different feelings for one another until they got to know more about each other and know feel a boyfriend

girlfriend connection. :smiley:

I think the two are an okay couple. Not my favorite, but they are kinda cute together.

hm… in my opinion, her very first notion was to teach him a lesson, for his arrogance.

then later, when she noticed that the lesson has been understood, she tried out just “how far” she

could go with him…
still a strange way to start a relationship! i could think of better ways… :smiley:

(nevertheless, i know at least some relationships which started with an insult or an argument)

in my eyes,

she gave him a chance not because she wanted to be kind to him, but because she recognized that his behaviour was

partly driven by “not-knowing” (ignorance) about how things are, and not only by "not

wanting".

…WHAT??? I’m not gonna fight about it. it’s just that MY opinion

is that i think they’re like the best couple ever…ugh, i wish i had a boyfriend.
