First, the Bad News: Happy Feet won Best Animated Film at the BAFTAs.

The Good News: Cars picked up Best Animated Film and Best Music from a
Film at the Annies, while Our Town got a nod from the Grammys!
I strongly
suspect it could go either way with the OscarsâŠ
Hooray for Cars!

Dash and I donât understand how it could win Best Animated
Feature and receive hardly any individual achievement awards. But nonetheless, congratulations to
Cars.
And yay for âOur Townâ!

BAFTA
is a British award, so I wouldnât coun it too much thinking of the Oscars.
Very good for Our Town. Best
thing that could happen before the oscars.
Annies: Hm?
NO Director (Over the Hedge, OMG! And THIS is an
award show for Animation`?
)
NO Storyboard (Over the Hedge
)
NO Effects (Carsâ effects
were the best in animation history)
The only thing that was great, was the Best Animated Feature
award.

Yes!!! Huzzah and yippee horay! Ehem â excuse my
excitement. Not to sound prejudiced or anything, but I was kind of rooting for Happy
Feet to earn that award.
On the other hand: Congratulations to
Cars for winning the âBest Animated Filmâ and âBest Musicâ
trophy at the Annies! My compliments to Mr. Newman for hitting a home run with Our
Town, as well. Things are looking good for the film. It just might win that Oscar⊠
Itâs funny- I turned the channel over to the BAFTAS just as the best animated feature
award was being announced. I was upset to see that Cars didnât win, naturally, but what bugged me a little was
that the guy who collected the award for Happy Feet- canât remember his name- was pretty pompous. I hate it when
people are pompous when they collect awards.
But, hooray for Cars at the Annies! Success!

Iâm glad Cars won that
Best Animated Film award at the Annies. Now all we need is for it to win at the Oscars, which it most likely
will. Iâm glad Our Town won at the Grammys, although I didnât watch it.
Congrats to Cars. I knew they were gonna win big at the Anines. But at the Oscars, I
strongly believe that Cars will take Best Animated Feature. Happy Feet was wonderful, but I think Cars has the
edge.

Happy Feet
is a good movie, but Cars is just a better movie overall in every category!!! Congrats on John Lasseter and
Cars!!!
I find it extremely odd how at first, I thought Carsâ biggest competetor would be Flushed
Away. Now, I am really surprised to see that the penguin movie, Happy Feet, is the one to beat for Pixar.
Yaay! Go Cars!
I havenât seen Happy Feet yetâŠ

But what about Our Town
for the Oscars? It might have won a grammy, but remember, this time, it is different.
Huh? That didnât make sense to
me.

Yay for Cars winning that Annie! and yay for Our Town getting a Grammy! Thatâs
totally getting my hopes up for the Oscars. Although Happy Feet is certainly some decent competitionâŠ
Well, people have said it before. Just because you win
something, doesnât nessecarily mean you will win it all. Cars might not even take the Oscar for Best Song
because it is from a different perspective.
But âOur Townâ did win the
Oscar for Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media.

oh. . . well now. . . I missed it didnât I. Man, I fel
so stupid. Sorry for all of the confusion PV. I feel ashamed now.
It was a
Grammy, not an Oscar. Just because the Grammys are the musical equivalent of Oscars, it doesnât mean that the
Grammy People and Academy Award people will agree on this topic. I did some research, and the last time both
Awards agreed on the same song was Into the West from Return of the
King. That said, they also agreed on If I Didnât Have You in
2001âŠ
Whooooops!
Sorry,
TSS.
To clear things up, the Oscars are February 25âŠjust not in
my head.

RMS: Thank you for saving my skin there.
PV: That is okay. We all have our mess ups at
times. Iâll forgive you if you forgive me.
And now that you mentioned it, Oscars are only 10 days away!
Who is excited?
Me! And Iâm excited not
only because Cars is a double nominee, but also because Iâll be introduced to
potentially good, if not brilliant, movies (All this, even though I already know about practically every Oscar
nominee this year
But Iâm hoping the Oscars will make me even more interested in watching the movies that I
already got interested in.)
