Aardman Studios

Who thinks that this company makes great films? In my opinion it’s only second to Pixar in animated movies. For those who don’t know, these people made Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit, and a variety of other shorts. It’s pretty easy to recognize their art style, something I particularly like about them.

And British humor! An added plus! Been a Wallace and Gromit fan since the first time I saw A Grand Day out on TV years ago.

Yeah Aardman’s great. I’ve seen both movies, a good portion of W&G shorts (Cracking Contraptions) and I have a DVD with 4 of their older, acclaimed shorts (all of which are more…eclectic, shall we say, than the others you know them by.)

British humor is a very plus! I grew up on Wallace and Grommit

I haven’t seen anything of their’s more recent than Chicken Run though…

You haven’t seen the Wallace and Gromit feature film :astonished: You must.

They made Flushed Away too, but that was computer animation made to look like stop-motion animation.

I know I must! I just… haven’t…

I forgot about flushed away! I STILL haven’t seen it and I reall want to! Gah, I must rent it!

I haven’t seen it either, It got pretty good reviews.

It did! My mom and siblings saw it a few times and said it was hilarious!

Aardman! I love these guys!

Yeah, Flushed Away = so under appreciated.

I adore Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit- they’re both hilarious. I was never keen on the look of Flushed Away, but I might see it at some point. Generally, Aardman is great, especially since they have their own unique style.

Flushed Away was decent - but I didn’t think it had that Aardman “magic” to it. They tried to make it appeal to American audiences more or something. I’m sure the suits were to blame for this.

My sister and I were introduced to the Wallace and Gromit shorts when we were very young, and ever since then we’ve enjoyed every one of Aardman’s productions, with the exception of Flushed Away (although we all know why that failed).

To date, my favorite of their feature films is Chicken Run, and my preferred Wallace and Gromit short is The Wrong Trousers.

it is absolutely second to pixar only

their creators make animation out of clay…clay!!!
that takes skill and patience and control of the fingers (lots of control)

They have really good stories as well;

Wallace and Gromit- The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Flushed Away
The three series of Wallace and Gromit

I have the Wallace shorts on my iPod but I’m more a fan of their Were Rabbit movie have it on DVD haha. It’s so hilarious and the bunnies are all so cute and Helen Bonham-Carter’s voice in it is really funny too.

At the moment they’re doing ‘Shaun the Sheep’ like the sheep from Wallace but he has his own show and it’s showing on childrens tv channel here in the UK.

Some of their shorts are… strange

Creature Comforts is awesome!

ya i have to admit that some of their shorts are strange like the short they have with the were rabbit

Didn’t see that one. strange.

I saw the movie, but I didn’t even realize that there was a short accompanied with it…
